A New Beginning

Interviews

Riley POV:
The smell of bacon wakes me up. It's Saturday. I look at the clock and see that it is already 12:38 pm. Today I am going to get a job interview, so is Maya. I walk into the kitchen still in my tank top and sleep shorts. "Hey baby," Lucas greets with a smile. I look to see the kids watching "Bubble Guppies" in the family room. "Hey, did you sleep good?" I ask. "Sure did." Lucas replies while flipping over some eggs. "Maya and I are both going for job interviews today. We are trusting you and Farkle with the kids." "Okay, I believe in you. You will do great!" Lucas encourages. I walk back to the master and take a shower. Afterwards I put on a coral skater dress with a necklace Lucas gave me in 9th grade that has a silver heart on it and some black pumps. (Riley and Maya's dresses are above you can see the full version of them by taping the picture) I then straitened my hair and apply darker make up than normal, then walk back to the kitchen. "Mommy! You look pretty!" Josh yells as I walk in. "Aww thanks honey." All four of us eat and then I head towards the door. "Have a good day, love you!" Lucas says pecking my lips. "I love you too!" I say opening the door and walking out.

Maya POV:
Today Riley and I are going for job interviews at the same time because there is a hotel right beside a wedding business. I woke up around 7 am this morning because I started having nightmares. Farkle wakes me up actually.

"Maya, you were rolling around screaming." Farkle says in a comforting voice. Truth be told I couldn't wake up from my nightmares. It was like I was trapped. "I-I couldn't get out..." I whimper. "It's okay, hey, let's go watch tv." Farkle suggests. I feel a lot more happier about sharing a house with him now than I did at first, I mean he sacrificed his sleep for me, his fake wife because I was having nightmares. And I appreciate that.

I make frozen waffles for the kids and then I get ready. I put on a sky blue high low dress with no straps. I curl my hair in small curls and apply a little more make up than usual. I walk out to the family room and kiss everyone good bye on the cheek. "Bye Maya, oh and you look stunning! Good luck." Farkle says while I walk through the door.

As soon as I walk into the hall Riley is there. "Wowzers," I say. "Woah," she replies. We drive in my car and park in from of the wedding boutique. "Good luck Sunshine!" "Thanks, good luck Peaches!" We separate and go to our 2:00 interviews.

Farkle POV:
"Well, what do you guys want to do?" I ask Owen and Skylar. "Let's go to Uncle Lucas!" Skylar suggests. I can only think of 600004 things that can go wrong with two teenagers and four kids but I don't refuse. "Alright." We walk literally like 4 feet across the hall and knock on the door. "Who is it? Riley says no answering to strangers!" Lucas answers. "It's Farkle and his Minki." I say. "Well come on in!" Lucas says as he opens the door.

We walk in and instantly all four kids run off to Josh's room. "Wanna watch the game?" Lucas asks. "Of course!" I answer. We watch the football game. It has just started.

***Time Skip***

3 hours later Riley and Maya show up. "Hey everyone!" Maya cheers. "How'd it go?" Lucas eagerly asks. "Perfect! We both got hired!" Riley gleams. "Hey Farkle, I never asked about your job did I?" This gets my heart racing. "Well, you see, I didn't get the job- but I'm going to go to another interview tomorrow." I answer. "I'm going to an interview tomorrow as well." Lucas adds. "That's awesome sweetie!" Riley says. Maya looks disappointed. I don't blame her, until I get a job she is the one supporting the family entirely. I walk over to her and try to hug her but she backs off. "How do you not get a job? You are the most likely to get hired out of all of us! No offense to the rest of us." She says. "I-I-" before I could finish my sentence I am cut off. "Never mind." She walks over to the couch.

Riley POV:
"Maya, let's go talk in my room." I suggest because I can tell she is angered. We walk in and we take off our shoes. "Maya, tell me what's wrong." I say politely. "I-I feel like I'm-I'm going to end up like my mother. I end up supporting my kids by myself. I know I shouldn't but I just can't help it." I hug her. "No, no one in their right mind would do that to you, I promise." I say hugging tighter. "Thanks Riles." We talk for a few more minutes and then we walk out into the family room. "Farkle, I'm sorry. I know you are trying." Maya gives a smile. "It's alright," he says giving her a hug. After a while Maya, Farkle, and their Minki leave and it's just the Friars now. Lucas goes to tuck in Christine and I tuck in Josh. I walk back to our room and change into one of Lucas' t shirts and some pink fleece pajama pants. Lucas comes in after a few minutes and joins me in the bed after brushing his teeth. "Goodnight baby." He says. "Goodnight husband." I grin. We have a goodnight kiss and I fall asleep with Lucas's arms around me.
