A New Beginning

Double Date

Riley POV:
I wake up to the sound of my buzzing alarm clock. "I wish I could throw that thing off a bridge." I say turning over to face Lucas. "Lucas, babe, wake up." I say shaking him a little. "Mmm" is all he says. I take a shower, and decide on a grey and black Aeropostale t shirt, jeans, and my turquoise high top converse. I put on natural make up and I loosely curl my hair. I walk out of the bathroom to find Lucas shirtless trying to pick out a shirt. I stare for a minute but quickly snap out of it before he notices.

"Lucas, we should stop by Starbucks to get breakfast." I suggest. "Alright, I'll get the kids." He says as he slips a John Adams High Football shirt over his head.

I decide to invite Maya and Farkle along with their kids to come as well. I walk over to their apartment as knock. I am greeted by a Farkle with a bed head. "Welcome to Farkle, Maya, and their Minki's residence. He says with a yawn. "Do you guys wanna join us at Starbucks in like 15 minutes?" I ask. "You better ask the boss." Farkle jokes as he points to Maya over on the couch. I give out a little laugh. Farkle has always been funny. "Hey Peaches! Wanna join our clan for breakfast at Starbucks?" I ask. "Of course just let me get dressed!"

Maya POV:
After Riley asks me to go to breakfast I run to my room to get dressed. I put on a John Adams Volleyball shirt and black jeans I put on my black combat boots and I quickly french braid my hair. I rush out and we are half out the door when Farkle and I freeze in our steps. "Kids." Farkle says and turns around. I turn around too and rush to Owen's room to wake him up.

In about 5 minutes Farkle comes back with Skylar and I come with Owen. While Farkle has been living with me, I've taught him many things; including how to do a pony tail so he put Skylar's hair in a pony tail for me. We rush out the door and meet Lucas, Christine, and Josh at the elevator.

"Sup Sundance, Little Riley (my nickname for Christine), and Little Cowboy (my nickname for Josh)." I wave. "Hi Auntie Maya!" Josh smiles.

After Starbucks we take the subway to school. "Man this brings back memories." Lucas says holding onto one of the poles. "This is where we met Riles." Lucas points to two seats in the corner. "That's where our first kiss was." Riley recalls, blushing.

At school we go to our lockers and go ahead to class. Eventually the whole class arrives and Mrs. Hanes walks up to the front of the room. "Everyone, today we will be talking about vacations." My head turns to Riley, she is thinking the same thing. Both our families on one trip?! Awesome! Farkle let's a smirk appear on his face. I smile back.

Lucas POV:
Riley turns around to me I smile warmly at her and she lets out a giggle. She turns around and Mrs. Hanes continues talking. I don't really pay attention; I zone out and think about vacations to go on.

After what seems like only minutes Riley has to tap my head for me to zone back in. "Class is over, we have to go to our 2nd period." She says motioning me forward.

The rest of the school day is pretty boring. But after school we drop off our kids to Josh because at lunch we decided to go on a double date. Riley and I go back to our apartment and get ready. I put on jeans and a flannel. Riley puts on a light blue dress that goes down a little below her knees and it has royal blue designs on it and black heels. After she takes like 30 minutes re-curling her hair from this morning and bobby pinning some back, we are ready. When we get to the elevator Farkle and Maya are already there and it seems like they have been there for a while. "Well you guys couldn't have been slower." Maya sneers as she walks on the elevator.

We go eat at a fancy restaurant that's only about 5 miles away from our complex. After we order our food, Farkle starts the conversation, "So where are we going on vacation, because it would be awesome for both of our families to go!"

"Disney World would be fun!" Riley suggests. "Sounds cool. Any other suggestions under in case we can't go?" Farkle asks. "What about Hershey, Pennsylvania and Hershey Park?" Maya suggests. "Alright. Let's take a vote." Farkle says. "Disney." I vote. "Disney World!" Riley squeals. "Hershey." Maya says firmly.

Farkle let's out a sigh. "Sorry Maya, I'm going with Disney." Riley squeals again with joy and Maya huffs but soon gets over it. "Good thing we get some money for our trip from school, or this would cost everything I own." Farkle chuckles.

After dinner, we decide to go to a putt-putt place and play a round. I won, Maya came in 2nd, Farkle in 3rd, and Riles in 4th. "This is a scam Friar, a girl like me never had a chance!" Maya shouts as we load into the car. "What?" I ask. "The guy with the scorecard always wins." She says more calm and laughing at herself. Riley almost hyperventilates laughing so hard and Farkle laughs a little too.

Once we pick up the kids and are home, it's kind of late so we tuck in the kids and go sit on the couch. "Lucas, do you want to watch a movie?" Riley asks scooting closer to me. "Why not. Your pick." I answer. "How about... Hmmm... Oh! High School Musical 3!" Riley gets up and prances to the cabinet we keep movies in and glides to the DVD player. She returns to her spot next to me and we start watching HSM3. Riley knows all the songs of course but when a certain song comes on I get up and say "Can I have this dance?" Holding out my hand. She takes it and says "Of course you may!" The lyrics start and Riley and I sing along as we slow dance.

Riley and I end the song staring into each other eyes. I start leaning in and Riley begins too. Our kiss ends a few minutes later. "I love you Lucas." Riley says looking back into my eyes. "I love you too princess."

After the movie, Riley and I change into pajamas and climb into bed. At about 3 am I am awakened by Riley screaming her head off in her sleep. I frantically shake her awake. "Riles. Riles. Baby..." Finally she wakes up. She's breathing heavily and I embrace her with a hug. "You're safe Riley. I won't let anything hurt you. Okay?" I say still hugging her. She lets go and looks into my eyes. "Okay." She sleepily flops back onto her side facing me I lay down again too.

After a few minutes Riley looks at me. "Will you stay with me?" She asks. I look at her and smile. "Always." And with that we fall asleep with each other's arms protectively around the other.
