MOX CUHN
We were scouring Venus for ages, wondering, hoping we'd find something in the labs that have since been abandoned. There's nothing here, and we resorted to all we've taken from the Ishtar Academy, a large basin of information that we stole a decade prior, within the Last City database now. I finally got what I'm looking for... medicine...
Chase: So, what'cha lookin' for?
Mox: Anything that can help us find a cure for people like Y/N, and then some. I want to see something hopeful.
Seri: Going against the Vanguard's back?
Shade: With all due respect, madam, we went behind their back as soon as we left for that unsanctioned scouting mission to find this garb. Though he didn't know we were going there to find even more research.
Mox: What my ghost just said...
Kovik: And now what? How long will we be going?
Doink: Till we croak, perhaps...
Chase: Relax, relax... don't get your little eyeballs all misaligned. We're not going to die doing this, ghosties, we're going to get that cure, rub it in their fucking faces, and then I'm going to ask Y/N out when he's all better.
Seri: W-what?!
Mox: Yeah, what was that last part?
Silence falls over us in the data center atop of one of the Last City's towers. I go back to typing away, hoping to make the search finer than I can. Advancements for medicine started with prosthetics and advancements in partnership with robotics. This is NOT what I'm looking for! This leads me to discover that the academy never found a cure for cancer, but they do know who did, and it's stored on highly encrypted files.
Mox: Shade.
Shade: Yessss...
Shade comes over, zapping at the terminal I was working on, she guesses the password using various forms of programming languages. The one that worked was the simple C, and it's as old as time... or at least, so I thought.
Seri: C didn't work, d-did it?
Mox: You're telling me-
Seri: Step aside. I was in the Deep Stone Crypt with many other Exos... I had to learn this to defeat one of their Fallen Exo clones... let me see...
She starts tacking away on the keyboard with her meaty, but robotic titan fingers. I can see her rapidly switching syntax to the point where the encrypted files just bust wide open. Shade swoops in to steal all of the data once she does so, and we can finally leave. Once we're out, I am obligated to ask that question to Chase yet again...
I'm not leaving that topic alone without a damn answer.
Mox: What will you be doing with Y/N?
Chase: Jeez... relax Mox, I'm gonna ask him out, maybe get some dinner, I dunno. We seemed to connect a bit the last I saw him, and well... I kinda think he's handsome... or at least, I thought he was about a year ago before he turned into a ghoul. It's about time I give him something to look forward to once he's back.
Mox: You're going to have your mind convoluted while we try to find this cure for him and many others.
Chase: No, I won't, oh shut up... Mox... You're just saying that because you want a piece of him!
Mox: No.
Chase: Oh, no? Oh, that's perfect then. So, I'm going to ask him out when we find this shit... or make this shit... or y'know... I might not even wait for that. What have we found on it so far?
