Adira-Mommy
Ember-Mummy

God I love baby Iris.

*Iris P.O.V*

I stare at Selene with wide eyes, happy that she had just walked in and plopped herself down next to me on the floor. I smile happily as she brushes my hair out of my face, nearly falling over in my attempt to hug her. My limbs feel all wonky and uncoordinated but it's not my fault. My body was just working against me.

Selene catches me before I can, smiling when I touch her face. I pat her cheeks slightly as I coo at her. She was just so pretty to look at and I couldn't help but lean closer to admire her. I press a kiss to her cheek, squealing happily with giggles when Selene kisses the tip of my nose. I lean my head back, giggling even louder when she does it again.

"Auntie, can I play with the baby?" Selene asks, looking at Mummy for permission instead of Mommy which I found funny for some reason.

"Yeah, you can play with giggles," Mummy says as she presses her foot into my side, making me squeal as I reach for her leg. I try to grab at her dress, leaning closer to try and grab at her heel.

"She is certainly giggly today," Mommy says, catching my attention. I smile at her, cooing when she leans down and presses my paci into my mouth. I hadn't even realized I had a paci, she must just be magic and able to summon things that I needed. Even if I didn't know what I needed.

I suck on my paci, a small coo escaping me when Selene stands up. I try to copy her but I find that I can't bring myself to stand up. My legs feel wobbly and I immediately fall back down, a whine of upset escaping me. Mummy catches the back of my head before I can hit it on her chair, gently massaging the back of my head.

"I'm going to go get my toys," Selene says before she runs off, leaving me behind. I stare after her, a small whine escaping me as I reach after her. How could she just leave me! That wasn't very nice at all!

"She'll be back darling, settle down now," Mummy says as she runs her fingers through my hair, gently tugging on my arm so that I scoot to sit in front of her. She runs her fingers through my hair, smoothing it out before she starts to braid it. I sit about as patiently as I can, still wiggling a little bit since I can't help it.

I puff out my cheeks, a small whine escaping me as I squirm slightly after a few minutes. Mummy chuckles, letting me get my wiggles out before she goes back to braiding my hair. I lean into her touch, smiling when Mummy leans down to kiss the top of my head.

"You two make it so hard to concentrate," Mommy fake grumbles as she pretends to swat at Mummy while still keeping her attention on what was going on with the people she was listening to. I smile slightly at her grumpiness, unable to help myself from giggling.

"I love giggles, she's so cute," Mommy mutters to herself as she tries to keep her focus on work. Mummy snorts slightly, turning my head when I tried to keep looking at Mommy.

"Keep your head straight sweetheart," Mummy says as she keeps braiding my hair, brushing away the loose hairs that seem to fall out. Mummy lifts me up onto her lap once she's done, patting my bottom as I snuggle into her. I don't intend on staying snuggled up with her but for now I'll let her give me cuddles.

"I'm back," Selene runs into the room, hurrying over to where we are. She trips and falls in her rush, falling flat on her face. Her toys scattered around us, seeing as her arms had been full. It's quiet for a moment before she bursts into tears and then Mommy is right next to her, scooping her.

"Oh Selene, let me see...let me see," Mommy says as Selene keeps crying, tears falling down her face as Mommy inspects her. Mommy tsks slightly, gently cradling her as she carries her back to her seat.

"Is she alright?" Mummy whispers to Mommy.

"There's no bleeding or any signs that there's a serious injury. I think she is just going to be sore," Mommy murmurs as she wipes Selene's tears away, kissing the top of her head.

"I know darling, you must be so hurt right now. I'm so sorry that mean step tripped you, I'll make sure to fix it right away," Mommy tells Selene who sniffles. She buries her head into Mommy's chest, crying still. I feel bad. I didn't like when she cried.

"Sel," I whisper, reaching out to touch her arm. She whimpers slightly, peeking out at me. I pull my pacifier out of my mouth, offering it to Selene. Selene eyes it, hesitantly reaching for it before Mommy so rudely stops me from giving it to her.

"Here, you can have your own Selene. That way you two don't accidentally give each other cooties," Mommy says, making Selene giggle.

"I not have cooties," Selene says with a smile on her lips.

"No but Iris may," Mummy teases as she bounces her leg slightly. I pout at that as Selene accepts the pacifier Mommy had gotten for her. How did Mommy have so many? Did she just keep them hidden just in case someone needed one?

"Don't have cooties," I pout slightly at Mummy who boops the tip of my nose. I wrinkle my nose up, giving her an upset look. She couldn't act like we were friends right now! She had just said I had cooties.

"Mmm, I know you don't. Well as far as your records say," Mummy teases as she kisses the top of my head. I huff slightly, whining when she gets up since that puts me further away from Selene.

"Okay, stay here grumpy butt," Mummy says as she sits me in her seat, rolling her eyes when I immediately reach to pat Selene's arm to make sure she was okay.

"Now, I know it's a little late in the day but how would you two feel about chocolate milk?" Mummy asks as she bends down to me and Selene's level.

"Please, please," Selene begs as she looks at Mummy and I nod in agreement.

"Alright, I'll be back in a minute then. Unless I have two little girls who want to help me?" Mummy asks. Selene struggles off Mommy's lap, earning a chuckle from her as Mummy takes Selene's hand before looking at me. I get up, taking her other hand instead of letting her pick me up. That seems to surprise her but she just smiles.

"Okay, come on my little helpers," Mummy says as she ushers us out of the room, ignoring the murmurs from the people who Mommy was having to deal with. It was okay though, Mommy could handle them while we were gone. That would be a great thing since maybe she'd be done by the time we got back!
