"Mum!"

William yelled at his mother who swerved to miss a truck that was driving on the road, jerking the wheel a little too hard sending them flying off the road. As Rebecca tried to stop she soon realised all her attempts were futile, as they collided with a tree on the side of the road. It was just forest that could be seen on the edge of this road, forest a girl was walking through when she heard the crash. That girl was Alice, who immediately racing towards the source of that noise in the faint chance she could help.

"Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Are you okay? Oh, my god. William. William? William!"

Alice heard a man's voice call out, assuming that William was his son, as she hiked up the hill, it was a big hill, and she didn't know if she was going to be of any help.

"Is he okay?"

Alice then heard the sound of a woman's voice, they both sounded very panicked, Alice didn't know how but she could hear the boy's heart beat and it was getting slower, she shook the thought of this boy dying as she continued to make it up this hill.

"No, he's bleeding."

The man told his wife, Alice thought she heard the sound of a seat belt unbuckling but she couldn't be sure because the woman started yelling over the sound.

"What? William, can you hear me, baby?"

The woman yelled, Alice thought there was a good chance the boy could not hear the woman calling out to him.

"Call 911."

The woman screamed at her husband, the boy's heartbeat getting slower and slower as she approached the car, which she could now see.

"I'm trying."

The man yelled back, it almost seemed like the phone lines were down because the man didn't get through at all.

"I don't think he's breathing. I can't get to him."

The woman said, Alice could hear very shallow breathing coming from the boy, as she approached the car.

"It's not going through."

The dad said angrily, as he opened the car door, obviously his side had remained undamaged in the crash.

"William."

The woman yelled at her son whose heartbeat was getting harder and harder to hear.

"Oh, no. Jeff. Look."

The woman yelled, Alice assumed the woman was pointing at something on the road as Alice had almost made it to the car.

"I'm gonna flag them down."

The dad said getting out of the car, phone still to his ear as he raced up towards the road.

"William, oh, no! No, no, no!"

The woman yelled it was at that moment Alice stopped being able to hear the boy's heartbeat, he was flatlining. As Alice made it to the car she saw the woman climbing out of her seat, Alice feeling for the boy's heartbeat through the broken window, the boy suddenly gasping as he came back to life.

"Tommy! Alice!"

The boy screamed as he woke up, Alice immediately removing her hands from the boy as she looked down up at her hands letting out a shaky breath.

"What did I do?"

Alice whispered to herself just before the woman opened the door to get to her son.

"Hey. Hey."

The woman said to the boy who was no longer her son at least not mentally, Alice retreating back down the still looking at her slightly bloodied hands.

"Rebecca."
