"Mum."

Valentina breathed out as she went to hug her mother, Rio, a smile on both of their faces.

"Hi, vally."

Rio said with a smile as she broke away from the hug, neither of them caring about the pile of bodies around them.

"You've kept me very busy you know. Which I must thank you for. It's a brilliant distraction"

Rio told her daughter, gesturing to the bodies all around them, causing Valentina to laugh, that was quite literally the point.

"You've been ignoring him haven't you?"

Valentina said, the him she was referring too was thanos, the guy who decided to kill half the universe to get the attention of her mother.

"That man does not understand the word no. Like how many different ways am I going to have to tell him I don't like him before he gets the message."

Rio complained to her daughter, she didn't ask him to kill half the universe for her, she actually asked to be left alone.

"Yeah, I can tell. And killing half the universe under false pretences, nah. I don't like this man."

Valentina had heard everything about this man and how much her mother hated this man, me seemed extremely obnoxious and obsessed with her mother.

"What the hell am I supposed to do half the universe's souls?"

Rio started to complain, as Valentina's phone started to ring, Valentina holding her finger out.

"Hello, de Fontaine, what do you want?"

Valentina asked, as she answered her phone, her mother understanding why she had held out her finger.

"I have a job for you."

The woman said over the phone, which caused Valentina to roll her eyes before making a comment.

"Yeah. That's usually why you call. Where and when?"

Valentina let out a sigh, as her and her mother walked back from doing a witches road thing in the desert. Well her mother just came to collect the bodies but decided to stay for some quality time with her daughter, and a much needed distraction from the man that was trying to get her attention.

"I'll give you the details but not over the phone, so where are you because I'm waiting at your front door and I feel like I'm melting."

The woman told Valentina which caused her to rub her face, sometimes this woman really exasperated Valentina. She'd just show up at all hours, any day of the week with a new assignment for her to do, the woman did not understand boundaries.

"I'll be there in 5 minutes. Just so you know this was supposed to be my week off."

Valentina told the woman as Valentina picked up the pace that she was walking, Rio following suit.

"I know. I'll see you in five."

The woman told Valentina before hanging up, Valentina shaking her head.

"Sometimes that woman does my head in."

Valentina complained to her mother, which was only fair because her mother complained to her.

"Agatha?"

Rio asked, she hadn't heard who was on the other end of that phone call, that question caused Valentina and Nicholas to laugh.

"I wish. My boss, you'll get to meet her, because she decided to show up to my house. Unannounced and uninvited."

Valentina told her mother earning a laugh out of her mother, as Nicholas nodded his head along with what his sister was saying.
