"Who do you want me to kill?"
Valentina asked the man with a chuckle as they went to give each other a hug. This man was a fair bit taller than her, wearing a white tuxedo with a black shirt and was completely bald, Valentina always thought he looked kind of funny.
"This witch named Elizabeth Partridge."
The man said, watching as a smile spread across the woman's face, eyes lighting up as the man said that the woman he wanted died was a witch. She kept the tradition of using the ballad to kill witches that tried to seek the road, she'd done it a few times.
"I may know a thing or two about killing witches."
Valentina told the man who chuckled, he knew that the woman and her mother had earned the moniker "witch killers". It was the whole reason why he came to her with this job, he knew she would get the job done.
"Don't be modest. I am giving you freedom to kill her in any manner you want. Payment will be as usual. I need her gone by the end of the week. Have a good night, Valentina."
The man told Valentina, putting the dossier on the table, and walking out of the shop as The Chain by Fleetwood Mac started playing. Valentina humming along the entire song, twirling around until it came to one part of the song,
"Chain, keep us together"
Valentina sung as she pointed at her brother, there really was a chain that kept them together, a tether that tied the twins together.
"I wonder if mum would come down, so we can kill this witch and some others like the good old days."
Valentina wondered out loud, Nicholas shaking his head as he laughed at his sister, she really jumped from topic to topic.
"I don't know, call her."
Nicholas shrugged, she'd have to call her to tell her anyway, Valentina rolling her eyes as she walked over the phone which was mounted on the wall, dialling her mother's number.
"Hello?"
The woman answered, Valentina leaning against the wall next to her phone, a smile creeping across her face.
"Mama."
Valentina breathed out, she could hear the smile creeping across her mother's face as she heard her daughter's voice.
"Val, how are you, baby?"
Agatha asked her daughter through the phone, she could hear the Fleetwood Mac playing in the background of the call.
"I'm good mama. I do have a question for ya."
Valentina told her mother, she could tell it was peaking her mother's interest, she'd already come to visit Valentina once and that was on the twins' birthday, so it wasn't like this would be her first time visiting.
"Don't just leave me hanging like that, what's the question?"
Agatha said, annoyed that Valentina hadn't told her the question right away, causing Valentina to laugh.
"So I have this witch I'm being paid to take out and was wondering if you would like to come down here so we can do a witches' road thing, you know like the good old days?"
Valentina told her mother, as she twirled the phone cord around her finger, as she waited for her mother to answer.
"Of course. Is there a specific day she needs to be go by? I know thats a thing for you."
Agatha asked Valentina, making sure not to use language that could incriminate her daughter, if her phones were being tapped.
"She wants to be on her way by the end of the week."
