Inez was chief of forensics at the Westview Police station, and she made sure everyone knew it.

"Inez, we got reports of a dead body, out near the woods."

Herb said sticking his head into her lab where she had Panic at the disco blasting, it always took Inez a moment to process what anyone ever said it annoyed people a lot.

"Huh? What did you say?"

Inez asked the man to repeat but before he could she spoke again.

"There's been a murder?"

Inez kind of asked, kind of said the man nodded his head and Inez started grabbing her things, she would hitch a ride with the coroner. As she packed her stuff in the back of the coroner's van she could have sworn she saw a familiar redhead, shaking the feeling off as she got in the van.

💚🖤

"There's no fucking way she was killed here. The question is where was she killed and why."

Inez kind of said to herself, the girl had a bit of a potty mouth, like she could fund the whole precinct if they set up a swear jar for her, that's how bad she was.

"Brilliant deduction, Inez. Do you have anymore insights for us?"

Agnes, Inez's mother and police detective asked Inez sarcastically, the woman had come up behind her daughter causing the dark haired girl to jump.

"Ooh you're lucky. You're lucky I didn't disturb the body."

Inez told her mother, she had narrowly avoided stepping on the woman's head, it wouldn't have hurt her she was already dead but it would contaminate evidence which is something Inez hated very much.

"I'm sorry, Inez. It was so perfect, I couldn't resist."

Agnes apologised to her daughter, who gave her stink eye as she walked past.

"Do have anything else to add?"

Agnes asked her daughter, who shook her head, Agnes then walking off to search the area surrounding the body.

"How did I know she was going to say that?"

Herb asked once he was sure Agnes was out of earshot, Inez rolled her eyes before answering.

"Because she always does it. Can you get her back here, we're ready to turn her over?"

Inez asked the man who nodded before walking off to find the girl's mother.

"Wake up Valentina."

Inez heard a voice say but there was no one there when she turned around to look, raising an eyebrow before going back to the body.

"Time to roll her?"

Agnes asked her daughter, nodding as the coroner and someone else turned the body over. The others all walked away leaving Inez, Agnes and herb standing in front of the body.

"Who are you?"

Agnes asked as the mother daughter duo crouched over the body.

"What happened to you?"

Inez asked, there was a mutual silence between the pair, a silence that was broken when herb spoke up.

"You alright, Agnes, Inez?"

The man asked, the pair putting on their stoic faces, Inez rolling her eyes before looking at the man.

"How'd you mean?"

Agnes asked the man, the man kind of looked confused as to why she had just asked that question.

"You two don't seem like yourselves."
