Sack was still fast asleep in his room. Despite it being nearly 10am, the sun shining through his window, and the chaos of breakfast being over, he remained in a deep slumber. Barf Bag was starting to get slightly concerned. While Sack was usually the last one up, it was rare that he would still be asleep this late into the day.
Barf Bag went up the stairs and into his room, and witnessed her son scrunched up at the end of this bed. She went over to him and stroked his cheek lightly.
"Sack?" She whispered softly. "It's time to wake up."
"Mmmmmm?" Sack opened his eyes for a brief second, looking right at Barf Bag, before he closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
"Sack, it's 10:00!" Barf Bag grabbed his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Come on, you have to get up."
Sack turned around to face Barf Bag. "My head hurts mommy."
Barf Bag's expression softened, as she knelt down biside him. "You said your head hurts?"
Sack nodded. "Yeah.'
Barf Bag placed the back of her hand onto his forehead, and felt that it was pretty warm. "Okay, just wait a second, let me go grab the thermometer real quick." Barf Bag went over to the bathroom to grab the thermometer, quickly making her way back into Sack's room.
"Okay Sack, can you let me put this under your tongue?" Barf Bag asked kindly.
Sack nodded, and let his mom place the thermometer in his mouth. After just a quick few seconds, the thermometer beeped. Barf Bag took the thermometer out to check the results.
"101.2?" Barf Bag's eyes widened, sympathy growing in her voice. "It's no wonder you slept in so late, you definitely have a fever buddy."
Barf Bag gave him a kiss on the forehead. "Can I get you something to eat? Auntie Pin saved some pancakes for you this morning."
Sack shook his head. "I'm not hungry." He mumbled.
Barf Bag sighed. "Well...I'd like you to try and eat something. Does anything sound good right now, and I mean anything."
Sack thought about it before giving Barf Bag his answer. "I want pudding."
"Pudding?" Barf Bag questioned. "I'll go check downstairs and see if we have any. You rest up as much as you need, okay?"
Sack slowly nodded. "I love you mommy."
Barf Bag faintly smiled. "Love you too, buddy!"
Barf Bag gently pulled the blankets up around Sack, making sure he was cozy before heading downstairs. She chuckled softly to herself; pudding wasn't exactly the breakfast of champions, but if that's what would make Sack feel a bit better, she'd make it happen.
Donut was waiting for Barf Bag in the kitchen downstairs. When he saw that she didn't bring Sack with her, he knew something was up. "Is Sack okay?"
Barf Bag shook her head. "He's got a nasty fever. All he wants right now is some chocolate pudding."
Donut frooze. "Oh no!"
"What?" Barf bag said in concern.
Donut smacked his hand on his forehead. "I just gave Sprinkle the last one!"
Barf Bag grumbled. "Great, what are we supposed to do now?"
Pin, who had overheard the conversation between the two, was in the dining room coloring with Thread. She knew that she had some instant pudding packets, which she sometimes made to use as pastry filling, lying around somewhere, and that she could make some nice, fresh pudding for Sack.
