In the morning, Barf Bag and Donut were absolutely exhausted. They had spent a lot of the night taking care of the twins, and let's just say, it was a long one.
As the rest of the team made their way down for breakfast, Barf Bag and Donut were jealous of how rested their friends were.
Barf Bag was cradling Sprinkle in her arms as she was preparing his bottle, bags forming under her eyes, "How did you do it with all of your kids when they were newborns!"
Pin shrugged, "Having one less baby definitely helped. I feel for you two."
Donut was grateful for Pin's understanding, as he cradled Sack in his arms, "It's like it never ends!"
Gaty provided him with some reassurance, "It does, don't worry! When Bladey was a newborn, you guys only heard half of the nights Saew and I had to go through with her. Plus, you guys helped out so much with the others because, well, you didn't have kids of your own yet! It isn't fair to you guys at all, we'll be sure to step in when we have a slower morning."
Speaking of Bladey, she noticed the commotion going on between her aunt, uncle, and little cousins, and felt like she couldn't just sit and watch. So, she made sure to let them know that she was willing to help.
"Auntie Barf Bag?" Bladey asked, her face perked up, "I wanna be a big helper like you said I could! What can I do to help Sprinkle and Sack?"
Barf Bag's eye's widened, realizing the opportunity to not only catch a little break, but also have Bladey feel like she was helping out, "How would you like to feed little Sprinkle? He hasn't had his breakfast yet."
Bladey gasped, excited to get to feed her little cousin, "How do I feed him?"
"GATY!" Barf Bag shouted, "Bring Bladey to the couch, I'll get his bottle and you can watch as she feeds him."
aty smiled warmly as she guided Bladey over to the couch. "Come on, Bladey, let's get you all set up. Feeding a baby is a very important job, and I'm sure you're going to do great."
Bladey's eyes sparkled with excitement as she climbed onto the couch, her little legs swinging back and forth with anticipation. She watched closely as Barf Bag finished preparing the bottle, carefully testing the temperature on her wrist before handing it over.
"Alright, Bladey," Barf Bag said softly, passing the bottle to her niece. "Hold Sprinkle close, just like this." She adjusted Bladey's arms to make sure Sprinkle was securely cradled. "Now, tilt the bottle so the milk fills the nipple, and let him drink."
Bladey followed Barf Bag's instructions with the utmost concentration, her small hands steady as she fed Sprinkle. The baby latched onto the bottle without hesitation, his tiny hands resting against the warm surface.
"I'm doing it!" Bladey whispered excitedly, her eyes wide with wonder as she watched her cousin drink. "He's really eating!"
Barf Bag's heart melted at the sight. "You're doing an amazing job, Bladey. Sprinkle is lucky to have such a helpful cousin."
Meanwhile, Donut was trying to keep Sack calm in his arms, gently bouncing him while rubbing his back. Sack was fussier than his brother that morning, and it took all of Donut's energy to soothe him. Seeing Bladey successfully feeding Sprinkle gave him a small sense of relief—at least one of the twins was content for the moment.
As Bladey was feeding Sprinkle, she could hear the noise of Thread's wheelchair making her way towards her. Once Thread saw her cousin feeding Sprinkle, she was intrigued.
"You get to feed him?" Thread beamed in amazement, "He looks so cute!"
Bladey beamed with pride, her chest puffing up a little as she nodded. "Yeah! Auntie Barf Bag said I could help. You wanna watch, Thread?"
Thread rolled her wheelchair closer, her eyes wide with fascination as she observed her little cousin sucking contentedly on the bottle. "He's so tiny," she whispered, almost as if she was afraid to disturb Sprinkle.
Barf Bag, who was watching the interaction, smiled softly. "He is, isn't he? Babies are small and delicate, but they grow so fast. Before you know it, Sprinkle and Sack will be as big as you and Bladey."
Thread reached out, hesitating for a moment before gently touching Sprinkle's tiny hand. "Can I help too, Auntie Barf Bag? I want to be a good big cousin like Bladey."
Barf Bag's heart swelled with affection. "Of course, Thread. How about you help me burp Sprinkle after he's done eating? It's an important job, and I know you'll do great."
Thread's face lit up with excitement. "Okay! I'll be really gentle."
As Sprinkle finished his bottle, Barf Bag carefully handed him over to Thread, making sure he was supported in her lap. She guided Thread's small hands to gently pat Sprinkle's back, showing her how to help him burp.
"Just like that," Barf Bag encouraged. "Nice and easy."
Thread concentrated hard, her tongue sticking out a little as she focused on her task. After a few moments, Sprinkle let out a tiny burp, and Thread's face lit up.
"He burped!" she chuckled, looking up at Barf Bag with wide eyes. Bladey started laughing along with Thread, as they cuckold about the funny noise that Sprinkle produced.
Not wanting to be left out of the fun, Bladey leaned closer to examine her little cousin. "Do you think Sack needs a burp too? I can help with that!"
Donut, who had been watching from nearby, smiled at the girls' enthusiasm. "Actually, I think Sack's all set for now. But thank you girls for being such big helpers!
Bladey puffed up with pride. "We're good at helping, right, Thread?"
Thread nodded vigorously. "Yeah! We can do it again, Auntie Barf Bag. Just tell us what to do."
Barf Bag's heart swelled with gratitude and affection. "I will, sweethearts. Thank you for being such wonderful helpers today."
As the family gathered around the breakfast table, the twins contentedly resting in their parents' arms, there was a sense of unity and shared responsibility. It wasn't always easy, but with everyone pitching in, even the toughest days seemed a little bit brighter.
...................................................................
I love when we get to see the kiddos interacting with each other, especially in moments like these!
Also, quick announcement! after this chapter, there will only be three more chapters until I take break for a little bit. This is because I'm moving into college in about a week, and will need some time to adjust to this new chapter. I don't know how long it will be just yet, but I'll let you know before it happens!
Anyways, I hope you all liked this chapter, and I'll see you in the next chapter!
