As fall started to some into full swing, the leaves on the trees started to fall off, scattering across the lawn of the Team8s house. The adults decided one afternoon that it was about time to start raking the leaves, but thankfully, they didn't have to do it alone this year.
"Oh kiddos!" Coiny said, "Who wants to help us rake leaves?" All the adults were standing at the front door, rakes in hand.
Bladey moaned, "Do we have to?"
Dimey grunted, "I just want to jump into the piles, not actually do the work!"
"How about this?" Pin said. "After you guys do an amazing job of raking the leaves into giant pile, we will let you all jump into them. Sound good?"
Instantly, the spirits of all the kids got lifted, and they all took rakes from their parents and got to work.
Sprinkle immediately looked over at his twin brother, a competitive look on his face. "I bet I can make a bigger leaf pile then you."
Sack was hestiant to challenge him at first, "I don't know Sprinkle, do you think the two of us could make big enough piles?"
Barf Bag and Donut overhead their conversation, and dicded that a compotition was what the two of them could use to get motivated. "How about we go into teams?" Donut sugested.
Sprinkle liked the idea. "I call dibs on dad!" Sprinkle looked back over at his brother. "Looks like you're stuck with mom."
Barf Bag started feeling the competitive spirit too, the most she felt since her days competing. "You think I'm not that good of a leaf raker mister? Well, it is on then, my friend, Sack and I are sure to beat you!'
Sack looked back at his brother and his dad, "It is on!"
The four of them vigoursly started their piles, raking as hard and as fast as they could to try to make the biggest pile.
Meanwhile, Thread watched from the porch, faintly smiling as she watched the rest of her family have fun raking the leaves. While she didn't let her being in a wheelchair get her down much, this was one of thoose times that she wished she could just run around with her brother and her cousins.
Pin stayed up with her to keep her company, "You know, raking leaves is quite tiring!"
Thread sighed, "Yeah, but sometimes being tired is part of having fun."
Pin wrapped an arm around her daughter, trying to lift her spirits. "I know it can be tough watching from the sidelines," Pin said gently. "But just because you're not raking doesn't mean you can't be a part of the fun."
Thread leaned her head against her mom's shoulder, watching as her brother and cousins raked with all their might. "I just wish I could jump into the piles with them."
As Bladey's pile was starting to grow, she overhead the conversation that Thread was having with her mom. Bladey's face softened, upset to see her cousin missing out on all the fun that they were having.
Dimey snuck up behind Bladey, "What are you doing?"
Bladey sighed, looking back over at Thread. "I don't like seeing her sad. I want to make Thread happy!"
Dimey looked at Thread, his expression sofening as well. "Why do we have to fix it? It's not like I made her this way, I would never want that for anybody!"
Bladey's eyes drifted away from Thread, and glanced at the wheelchair ramp which led from the porch to the yard, and it was pretty long to. She looked at the base of the ramp, and suddenly, she had an idea.
Dimey was about to run off and continue making his pile, but Bladey needed his help. "Dimey!" Bladey's voice was just above a whisper.
Dimey stopped and turned around. "What?"
