Pin was getting some housework done for the family. In a house with twelve people, simple things like doing the dishes could be quite the task, but the household had a system that made everything much more manageable.

As she was putting the dishes away, Pin noticed a phone ring from an unknown number.

Who could be calling me, she thought to herself, Probably one of those scam calls. Regardless, she picked up the phone, interested in who could possibly be on the other end of the line.

"Hello?" She asked, ready to hear that robotic tone of the scam callers.

To her surprise, a genuine voice answered the phone, "Pin...is this you?"

Pin instantly recognize the person at the other end of the phone, "...Book?"

Book smiled, happy to have Pin on the line, "Hey, how are you?"

Pin was still confused about why she was calling, but responded to Book anyway, "I'm doing good, was just washing some dishes."

Book responded, "Sorry to disturb you, but I kind of wanted to talk to you about something."

Pin had no idea what Book could be referring to, "Sure, what's up?"

Book was excited to tell Pin what had happened, "So you know my daughter, Bookmark, right?"

Pin nodded, "Yeah, I think I've met her once or twice."

Book continued on, "Good, good. Anyway, she was actually in the group meeting with Dr. Horn the other day, with your daughter, Thread."

Pin's eyes widened, "I didn't know that! Thread was talking about meeting another girl during that meeting...I'm now assuming it's Bookmark?"

Book nodded, "Yeah, the two were chatting away during the session, apparently Dr. Horn had to tell them to be quiet more than once!"

Pin felt bad that her daughter was causing trouble, "Oh gosh, I'm sorry Book. I mean, I'm sure Thread didn't mean to distract her it's just-"

"Are you kidding me?" Book interrupted her. "You don't understand, Bookmark, like, never talks to anyone. She has a hard time socially because of it, how did Thread do it?"

Pin paused, surprised by Book's words. "Really? I had no idea... Thread must have some sort of magic, then. She's always been so friendly, but I didn't realize she could bring someone out of their shell like that."

Book's voice softened, filled with appreciation. "It really does feel like magic. Bookmark's always been so shy, especially with everything that's happened recently. But when she came home after that meeting, she was smiling and excited, telling me about Thread. I haven't seen her like that in a long time."

Pin felt a swell of pride for her daughter. "That makes me so happy to hear. You know, Thread's had her own struggles too, and maybe she just understands what it's like to feel different. I'm glad they found each other."

Book was excited about her daughter finally having a connection with someone, "I don't know if this is too much for her, but I would love for those two to hang out sometime. I know Thread must have a lot of other friends and she must be busy, but I really want to see that smile on Bookmarks face again!"

Pin smiled, "Thread doesn't have as many friends as you might think, in fact, I'm even surprised that she was able to connect with Bookmark like that. She has one other friend who she hangs out with, but other than that, she gets lonely sometimes, even in our crazy household."

Book nodded, "Do you think Thread would be able to introduce her other friend to Bookmark to, it would be nice for her to expand her social circle?"

Pin inhaled through her teeth, "Yeah...about Thread's other friend...her name is Flare. She's amazing, and Thread loves her but...if you found out who her parents were then you might think otherwise."

Book started to get nervous, "Who are her parents then? I promise I wont judge."

Pin sighed, "It's...it's match and Pencil."

Book did a deep exhale, "Oh...them."

Pin nodded, "Yeah...Coiny, Needle and I have sorted things out with them somewhat...but it's still a little iffy."

Book understood, "Look...honestly...as long as I don't have to talk to them it should be fine, I'll probably just get Price Tag to do it. She must be a nice kid, Flare."

Pin nodded, relieved that Book was understanding. "Flare is a good kid, and Thread absolutely adores her. They're inseparable most of the time. I think it would be good for Bookmark to meet her too. Maybe they could all hang out together sometime."

Book smiled at the idea. "That sounds perfect. I think Bookmark could use some more friends, especially ones like Thread and Flare. I'm just so grateful to Thread for bringing out this side of her. It's been a while since I've seen Bookmark so happy."

Pin felt warmth spread through her chest, knowing that her daughter had made such a positive impact. "I'll talk to Thread about it tonight. I'm sure she'll be excited to spend more time with Bookmark. And maybe this could be the start of something really special for all of them."

Book's voice was filled with gratitude as she responded, "Thank you, Pin. I really appreciate this. Let's keep in touch and set something up soon."

"Definitely," Pin agreed. "I'm looking forward to it."

As they ended the call, Pin couldn't help but feel proud of her daughter. Thread had a way of bringing people together, even in ways that surprised her own mother. She hoped this would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship, not just for the kids, but for the families as well.

..........................................

Ok I know this chapter is literally just Pin and Book on a phone call but you know what I think this chapter is very wholesome. I'm really excited for you all to watch Thread's friendships develop! Also, keep working towards 30K reads if you want those Sack and Sprinkle drawings! Anyway, not much else from me, see you in the next chapter!
