⦓Harveston- Apple Square⦔
Epel had guided us to the town square. In the square, there was an abundance of stalls that sold various things and loads of people walking, talking, and taking in the sights.
"What a large and spacious town square," Jade comments.
"There are a lot of people here," I mutter.
"This is Apple Square, our main festival venue," Epel smiles at the sight of the square.
"Lively, isn't it," Sebek questions. "There are quite a few vendor stalls."
"Yup, the sledathon comes but once a year," Epel exclaims. "Mostly townsfolk run the stalls. Everyone's excited to have all these visitors. It's our most lucrative time of year!"
"I admire their mercantile spirit," Jade grins.
"The stall area is called Kokko Market," Epel states.
"What does Kokko mean," Idia asks.
"It means 'bonfire' in an ancient Shaftlands language," Epel explains.
"Ah, yes, I see a bonfire pit in the center of the square," Jade nods his head in understanding.
"Hey, Epel," I get his attention. "Why are there apples threaded with string hanging above everyone? Aren't they concerned that the apples with rot with the air exposure."
"They're not real," Epel says. "Those apples are lamps."
"They look really realistic," I sigh. "I wanted to grab one and eat it."
"You hang out with Grim too much," Jade chuckles. "You're picking up his mannerisms."
"I could get some apple juice," Epel suggests. "They're giving it out over there."
"Oho, for free," Sebek lights up in excitement. "How generous."
"Yup. They also have apple tea and apple ginger tea," Epel says. "People don't normally come out here much, so we're always happy to welcome folks."
"How nice," I smile. "I would like something cold."
"I'll get you some iced apple juice, then," Epel tells me, then looks at the guys. "What would the rest of you like? I'll write it all down and go get it."
"I'd like an apple juice, please," Jade says. "I've been wanting to try some ever since I read about how good it is."
"I'll have the apple tea," Sebek goes next. "I could use something warm in all this cold."
"I could go for a hot drink myself," Idia sides with Sebek. "Apple ginger tea, plz."
"How did you do that," I ask Idia as Epel left the group to get our drinks.
"Do what," Idia was confused.
"Say that shortened version of please," I frown.
"Plz," Idia repeats his shortened version. I nod my head and he starts laughing. "A normie like you could never understand."
"I think it's best that you don't question his words or actions," Jade leans down some to whisper in my ear. "According to Azul, he is quite the oddball."
"You guys stay informed, don't you," I look up at Jade.
"We certainly don't change overnight," Jade chuckles. "You might want to be careful though, around Idia. There is no telling what goes inside his mind."
