Ace Valentines' Special

<Pocket Dimension- Sparkling Hall>

"So this is the venue the ghosts set up," Deuce exclaims as he looks around the venue. The students had split up into their own small groups. Deuce was with Grim, Ace, and I.

"Check it out," Grim drools as he looks at the food table. "They got heaps of fancy food! I'm gonna have myself a FEAST!"

"Wow, this is classy," Ace voices his awe. "Of course it's the least we deserve after all that hullabaloo. They really put us through the wringer."

"I wish we could've done without all the exercise," I sigh. "I need to take a nap after all that."

"I bet," Ace looks at me. "You were ready to tear Malleus and Lilia apart as that huge fox."

"Yeah," I nervously laugh. "I might need to get a handle on that in the future..."

"Hello there," Malleus greets the group as he approaches. "How are you enjoying the party?"

"Oh hey, Malleus..." Ace greets Malleus.

"This is SWANK!" Grim cheers.

"Really... 'swank'..." I question Grim.

"I honestly wasn't expecting you to go all out with the venue or get all this fancy food," Deuce admits to Malleus. "I've never been to a dance party like this before."

"Is that right?" Malleus chuckles. "By all means, enjoy it."

"I will," Deuce smiles at Malleus. "Thank you!"

"Dude..." Ace nudges Deuce.

"Yeah," Deuce looks at Ace. "What is it?"

"...Nothin'," Ace grumbles. "Just wondering if there was anything else you wanted to say."

"For once you are trying to use your head," I laugh at Ace. He turns to me and glares, I choose to ignore him though. "Grim, I suggest you hit the food tables. I'm getting tired of looking at you drool."

"Alright," Grim happily exclaims. "It's chow time, baby!"

"I'm pretty hungry myself after the workout I got today," Deuce comments. "Let's eat!"

"We went through all that, and you guys just wanna stuff your faces," Ace frowns.

"Hey, everything turned out fine," Deuce argues. "What's the big deal? Besides, it'd be bad manners to ignore all this food they made us."

"Here we go with the honor student schtick," Ace threw his hands up in defeat. "Look, nobody's tellin' us what to do. We can do whatever we want, y'know? On that note, I'm gonna go have my own kind of fun. I'll catch up with you guys later." Ace walks away from the group.

"What's Ace's problem?" Deuce crosses his arms over his chest. "Malleus and the ghosts put together this amazing party for us."

"Eh, just ignore 'im,"Grim shrugs Deuce off. "If Ace isn't gonna eat his share, that's all the more for me!"

"I'm gonna check up on Ace," I say. Deuce nods his head in understanding and takes Grim to get food. I go to look for Ace, weaving through the crowd of students and ghosts.

"Hey, Y/n," Mirabel finds me through the crowd. "I really hope you're not too mad about everything."

"Only a bit irritated," I admit with a sigh. "I'm looking for a normal height red-headed skeleton. Have you seen him?"

"Yeah, I have," Mirabel answers. "He's talking with Lilia and Malleus over there." Mirabel points to a far wall where Malleus's horns could be seen over the crowd.

"Thanks," I give Mirabel a quick hug before walking over to the trio. Malleus and Lilia were teasing Ace, leaving him flustered. "There you are, Ace."

"Huh," Ace looks over at me as I approached the trio. "Why aren't you with Deuce and Grim?"

"Just wanted to make sure that you're okay," I respond. "You seem really on edge."

"I'm fine," Ace huffs.

"I think we should leave you two alone," Lilia smiles as he pulls Malleus away from Ace and I.

"Was being with Leona and Floyd that bad," I question.

"That's not it at all," Ace frowns. "You wouldn't get it."

"Ace, come on," I sigh. "Tell me what's going on."

"What am I supposed to tell you," Ace snaps. "Am I supposed to tell you that I was worried about you the entire time we have been here? Am I supposed to say that I was terrified when I saw your new transformation? Am I supposed to say that I am scared of you going overboard and ending up injured or even worse dead?"

"Um... that was a lot," I shifted nervously.

"Look I do care for you a lot and I don't want to see you hurt." Ace rubs the back of his head, refusing to meet my eyes.

"I appreciate your concern," I smile. "You have been the person I've known the longest here. As long as I'm with you, I'll be okay."

"So... does that mean I get to sleep with you now?" Ace smirks and winks at me. I shove Ace slightly away, a frown tugging my lips. I look towards the crowd and see Mirabel. I decide to give Ace a quick kiss on the cheek, close to his lips, and scurried over to Mirabel.

"Ace is such an idiot," I mumble to Mirabel as I was slightly flustered.
