Faced with the two men rolling up their sleeves and spouting profanities, Jiang Yuan took a step back, her expression cold, and asked, "Kong'er, do you know martial arts?"
Lin Kong, her mind struggling to keep up, was surprised by the familiar way Jiang Yuan addressed her. Since their marriage, Jiang Yuan had never called her so closely. Instinctively, she wanted to say no.
Yet, even with her limited understanding, she knew the two men's words were vile, and she resolved to protect her wife from these ruffians!
Lin Kong stepped forward, assuring, "Kong'er will protect my wife."
Jiang Yuan had been seeking an opportunity to test Lin Kong's martial prowess, and now was the perfect moment.
She discreetly crouched, using the vortex at her fingertip to gather a few stones she could lift, then stood quietly by the ox cart, watching Lin Kong confront the two men.
Seeing Lin Kong's attempt to defend Jiang Yuan, the stout man laughed even more wildly, mocking, "This fool really is foolish. Why not just watch us have fun, instead of trying to be a hero?"
"Exactly. Maybe out of kindness, I’ll let him have a taste of this sweet young lady too," the tall man leered, his mind filled with thoughts of taking Jiang Yuan before Lin Kong.
But as he entertained these thoughts, a heat surged through him, clouding his mind. He loosened his belt, grinning lewdly as he approached Jiang Yuan, dismissing Lin Kong entirely.
Lin Kong, not particularly tall and appearing as delicate as Jiang Yuan with her tender features, didn’t seem much of a threat.
As they neared, she fearlessly blocked their path. The tall man sneered, "Oh, brave one, get lost! Don’t ruin my fun."
"Who cares? Just beat him up," the stout man impatiently swung a fist at Lin Kong, only to have it caught and twisted, the sound of bones cracking audible.
"Agh!" A pig-like squeal echoed.
"Damn it, this fool’s got some moves. Lai Da, can’t even handle a fool? Stop squealing like a pig!" The tall man taunted, secretly pleased at Lai Da's injury, eyeing the young lady for himself.
Reaching with his dirt-covered hand, he grabbed Lin Kong’s shoulder, raising a fist to strike.
Sensing danger, Lin Kong instinctively dodged, causing his punch to land on Lai Da’s nose, unleashing a torrent of blood and more squeals.
"Yu Er, are you blind? Hit my nose!" Lai Da cursed, his voice pained.
The tall man internally cursed his incompetence but outwardly declared, "Let’s both take him down. I refuse to believe we can’t handle a fool."
Jiang Yuan remained indifferent to their plight, focusing on Lin Kong’s martial movements.
Lin Kong moved with surprising agility, evading every blow, seemingly unaware of her prowess, treating it as a game of cat and mouse.
Jiang Yuan’s mind flashed to the Lightness Skill from martial arts tales, amazed at Lin Kong’s abilities, though her techniques were few, relying on brute strength or perhaps internal energy.
