Jiang Yuan frowned, thinking something was wrong, and quickly walked over to Lin Kong.

Seeing Jiang Yuan ignoring her plea and coming closer, Lin Kong, feeling the discomfort beneath her, started crying and retreating. The spot she had been sitting on was revealed, showing a bloodstain on the sheet. Her face turned pale at the sight, and she hurriedly covered it with her body, looking up at Jiang Yuan with teary eyes, whispering, "Wife..."

Jiang Yuan had observed Lin Kong's actions and understood what had happened. She said helplessly, "Come on, get up."

Lin Kong remained still, gazing at Jiang Yuan with tear-filled eyes, as if hoping Jiang Yuan would forget what she had seen.

Jiang Yuan: "..."

She doubted Lin Kong could come up with some excuse that men could have monthly cycles too.

Deciding not to look at Lin Kong, Jiang Yuan called for a servant to bring in a bath barrel and a basin of hot water, instructing them to return with more hot water in half an hour. She began arranging for a bath.

Once the servant left, Jiang Yuan filled a basin with warm water, then returned to the bedside and said, "After your monthly cycle starts, it's not suitable to bathe. Just wipe yourself down and don't sit on the bed."

Jiang Yuan had been at the Lin family for nearly two months and had seen Lin Kong experience her monthly cycle twice.

Each time, Lin Kong would run to her mother, panicked, but return with a calm demeanor, thinking she had hidden it well. Jiang Yuan had seen through it all along.

"Wife..." Lin Kong looked up in shock at Jiang Yuan, not understanding how she had been found out.

In her mind, even if Jiang Yuan saw the blood on the sheets, she should assume it was from an injury, not see through her immediately.

Ignoring her, Jiang Yuan said, "Hurry and clean yourself up. If you keep sitting, you won't be able to sleep tonight."

Lin Kong hesitated, remembering her mother's warning that if her true gender were discovered, Jiang Yuan might leave. She jumped out of bed, disregarding the bloodstained sheet, and grabbed Jiang Yuan's sleeve, pleading, "Wife, you can't leave."

"I won't." Jiang Yuan wrung out a towel and wiped Lin Kong's tear-stained face, "I already said I wouldn't leave. Do you think I'm someone who goes back on their word? You're the one who's not listening."

Relieved, Lin Kong promised, "Yes, Kong'er will be good. Wife, please don't leave."

Jiang Yuan brought a wooden stool and handed Lin Kong a towel, "Clean yourself up. I'll step out for a bit."

"Wife, where are you going?" Lin Kong, fearing Jiang Yuan might leave while she wasn't looking, felt she had to keep an eye on her.

Jiang Yuan glanced at her, "You can't wipe yourself down forever. I'll be back soon."

"Oh." Understanding, Lin Kong started to remove her trousers to clean herself.

In her two months here, Jiang Yuan had experienced her own cycle and had used methods she remembered from the internet to make makeshift sanitary pads. Though not as good as modern ones, they sufficed.
