The lead constable followed the direction pointed out by the crowd, focusing on Jiang Yuan and her companions. He was surprised to find that the alleged murderers were two delicate women and a seemingly foolish young boy. However, he couldn't afford to waste time. With a wave of his hand, his subordinates swiftly surrounded the entrance of the pharmacy.

Lin Kong assumed these people were there to fight, instinctively stepping in front of Jiang Yuan. Now that she knew martial arts, she was determined not to let anyone bully Jiang Yuan.

Jiang Yuan gently pulled her to the side, shaking her head, and then calmly watched the scene unfold with Shiqi.

The complexion of the two people lying on the ground gradually improved. Earlier, they had likely been affected by blocked acupoints, causing their faces to appear bluish.

Xu You, despite his young age, wore a sinister smile. Obeying his father, he had endured playing foolish games with Lin Kong for the past half month. Now that these people were about to be imprisoned, he was confident he could extract the secret of preserving items from the Lin family.

Suppressing his malice, Xu You was about to address the lead constable with accusations against Jiang Yuan's group when Jiang Yuan spoke first, "Officer, you've been deceived."

Her tone was calm and assured, her words landing with undeniable weight, emphasizing "deceived" so everyone could clearly hear.

The lead constable couldn't tolerate a mere merchant publicly suggesting he’d been fooled, though he couldn't dismiss the possibility. His expression turned cold, eyes blazing as he glared at the crowd.

Though not impoverished, the surrounding onlookers knew better than to challenge authority. They unanimously pointed at the wailing women, gloating, "Officer, the two workers from Renhe Pharmacy are lying there. We saw it ourselves; the murderer is Lin's new worker."

The new worker, Shiqi, observed the reckless crowd in silence.

Several constables stepped forward to drag away the crying women. Seeing the bloodied bodies on the ground, the lead constable ordered his men to make arrests.

The crowd, eager for reward money, grinned smugly. They'd always heard that government money was hard to come by, yet this seemed simple. But before their imagined rewards could materialize, a violent coughing from the ground drew everyone's attention.

The two supposedly "dead" individuals began to stir, attempting to sit up. The women who had been crying were terrified, one even fainting on the spot.

The spectators, eager for excitement, shouted about ghosts and prepared to flee.

A constable bellowed, "No one leaves! Interfering with official business? You all have a death wish?"

Those who had taken a few steps away returned, trembling as they watched the "resurrected" workers, exchanging bewildered glances.

The workers, slowly sitting up, knew who had saved them. After wiping away the blood, they knelt before Jiang Yuan, expressing gratitude, "Thank you, Manager Jiang, for saving our lives."

Jiang Yuan nodded slightly, turning her gaze to the furious Xu You.

Such a young child, yet so ruthless. One could only wonder what havoc he might wreak when grown. It was time for him to learn a lesson.
