Chapter 32: Hugging My Wife Again Today

Lin Kong spoke without intent, but Jiang Yuan listened with a heart full of meaning. Lin Kong often said silly things, yet these very words unwittingly tugged at Jiang Yuan's heartstrings.

Feeling compelled, Jiang Yuan walked over and gently embraced Lin Kong, whispering in her ear, "Kong'er, no matter what happens, remember to listen to me."

In truth, Lin Kong didn’t have to suffer alongside her; it would only require some trouble for Song Keyan. But Jiang Yuan trusted no one else, only herself.

Lin Kong couldn’t see the seriousness in Jiang Yuan's eyes. She instinctively hugged Jiang Yuan’s waist, nuzzling into her neck, happily saying, "Kong'er has always been obedient."

It was the first time Jiang Yuan initiated a hug. Though they had hugged in bed before, this felt different somehow. Her wife was so gentle now, and she liked it.

Jiang Yuan felt a shiver run down her neck, pulling back slightly, yet she didn’t release Lin Kong immediately, smiling, "Being obedient is good. We need to hurry to the store."

As she was about to let go, Lin Kong grasped her wrist, pleading, "Wife, let Kong'er hug you a little longer."

Her wife was soft now, unlike before when she was always tense. Who knew when the next chance would come, so she wanted to hold her as much as possible.

Jiang Yuan placed her hand on the back of Lin Kong’s neck again, resigned, "Alright, just a little longer."

"Mm."

After a brief embrace, Jiang Yuan reluctantly withdrew her hand under Lin Kong's longing gaze, and they headed to the rice shop together. She had Lin Kong wait outside while she tidied the grain warehouse. It didn’t take long, and they returned to the pharmacy by the afternoon.

Lin Kong didn’t know what Jiang Yuan was doing, but she obediently followed her. Only after everything was settled did she notice some people missing from the pharmacy.

She looked around, puzzled, "Wife, where are Wan'er and Sister? And Shiqi is gone too."

They had been practicing martial arts together earlier, and Lin Kong couldn’t understand how everyone disappeared in a blink.

Jiang Yuan glanced at the still calm pharmacy entrance, "I asked Shiqi to take them visiting."

"Visiting? Do we have relatives here?" Lin Kong didn’t remember any, though she wasn’t sure about Lin An.

Jiang Yuan shook her head, "No, but visiting friends is fine too."

"Oh." Lin Kong didn’t ask who the friends were, too happy today, just wanting to follow Jiang Yuan everywhere.

Seeing there was time, Jiang Yuan led Lin Kong inside, helping her wrap her chest more securely and adding an extra layer underneath.

Lin Kong thought Jiang Yuan was worried about the cold, though she wasn’t. It felt a bit tight, and with Jiang Yuan’s unusual behavior, she asked, "Wife, are we doing something big?"

Jiang Yuan replied ambiguously, "Just wrapping tightly to avoid being recognized. If people find out you’re a girl, we’ll be shamed by everyone."
