"Family is complicated. It's the ties we can't sever, the bonds that bend under pressure but rarely break. But sometimes, family comes at us unexpectedly, like a patient on the table-fragile, messy, and in need of repair." - Dahyun

In the bustling surgical floor of Seoul General Hospital, the interns stood at attention as Dr. Im Nayeon briskly walked in, clipboard in hand.

"Good morning," she began. "Today's assignments: Dr. Kim Jisoo is handling an emergency surgery on a patient with an endometrial polyp. Min Yoongi, you're assisting."

"Got it," Yoongi replied, but just as he did, a nurse interrupted.

"Dr. Im, the trauma bay needs an intern for a case."

Nayeon sighed. "Yoongi, you're off the polyp case. Dahyun, you're in."

Dahyun blinked, surprised. "Me?"

"Yes, you. Stop whining and move."

Dr. Kang Dong Joo and Dr. Kim Jun Wan

In another corner of the hospital, Dr. Kang Dong Joo and Dr. Kim Jun Wan reviewed scans for their respective cases.

"Dr. Kim," Dong Joo said, addressing Jun Wan, "this aneurysm repair looks tricky. You sure you're not envious of my simpler case?"

Jun Wan smirked. "Your 'simpler case' involves mapping out a neurosurgical minefield. I'll stick to the predictable thrill of the heart, thanks."

Their banter was interrupted when Dr. Go Seungtak walked in, holding a tablet. "Gentlemen, let's not forget plastics is where the real magic happens. I've got a reconstruction surgery today that'll blow your minds."

Dong Joo raised an eyebrow. "Magic, or just glorified carpentry?"

"Keep that attitude, and you'll never get a referral from me," Seungtak retorted with a grin.

Dr. Kim Jisoo prepped the OR with Dahyun assisting. The patient, Kim Min-jeong, lay on the table, unconscious.

"Focus," Jisoo said as Dahyun prepared the instruments.

"Yes, Dr. Kim," Dahyun replied, steadying her nerves.

"What are the symptoms the endometrial polyp has the patient manifested before coming in."

"Umm, I..."

Jisoo looked up to see Dahyun stuttering "What is it?"

"The symptoms of endometrial polyp are Vaginal bleeding after menopause, Bleeding between periods, Frequent, unpredictable periods whose lengths and heaviness vary.
Very heavy periods and also infertility."

"So, which from those you mentioned are the symptom that the patient experienced that led her for an emergency surgery?"

"I'm guessing because of excessive bleeding."

"Guess? You didn't read the patient's chart before coming in, don't you? You were one of the top interns here, what is distracting you from being one?"

"Probably you and your fiancé who didn't told me he was engaged," Dahyun muttered under her breath.

"You say something, intern?" Jisoo asked without looking up.

"No, Dr. Kim. I apologize for not being able to read her charts. I wasn't supposed to be at your service."

"Does that give you the right to give less of attention to your patient?"

"No Dr. Kim. I apologize and promise it won't happen again."
