Yoongi dragged his suitcase through the hospital parking lot, the weight of the day's events bearing down on him. It wasn't just the exhausting 12-hour shift; being kicked out of his dorm left him with nowhere to go.
He glanced at his phone, scrolling through listings of overpriced apartments, and let out a sigh. This was not how he envisioned his intern year.
As he approached the interns' lounge, Sana was sitting on the couch with a coffee in hand. She looked up and frowned when she saw him lugging his suitcase.
"What's with the luggage?" she asked, setting her cup down.
Yoongi shrugged, trying to downplay his situation. "Got kicked out of my dorm. Roommate issues. Now I need to find a place to crash until I figure things out."
Sana's eyes widened. "Wait, you're homeless?"
"Temporarily," Yoongi clarified.
Sana tapped her chin thoughtfully before a lightbulb went off. "You know, there's an empty room at Dahyun's place."
Yoongi raised an eyebrow. "Dahyun's place?"
"Yeah," Sana said with a grin. "I live there too, remember? Besides, I kicked Jungkook out months ago, so there's a vacant room. You should totally move in!"
Yoongi blinked, taken aback. "I don't know... isn't that kind of awkward?"
Sana waved him off. "Nah. Dahyun's cool. Plus, it's better than spending your nights in your car or wasting money on a shoebox apartment."
"Did you ask Dahyun about this?" Yoongi asked hesitantly.
"I'll talk to her. Don't worry. She loves helping people." Sana grinned and grabbed her phone.

That evening, Dahyun was in the kitchen pouring her takeouts on the bowl when Sana barged in, phone in hand.
"Hey, Dahyunnie," Sana started sweetly, her tone immediately raising suspicion.
"What do you want?" Dahyun asked without looking up.
Sana pouted. "Why do you always assume I want something?"
"Because you do."
Sana laughed. "Okay, fair. So, here's the thing. Yoongi needs a place to stay, and I was thinking he could rent the spare room."
Dahyun paused, turning to face her. "Yoongi? Our Yoongi?"
"Yeah. He got kicked out of his dorm, poor guy. And the room's just been sitting there empty anyway."
Dahyun considered it for a moment before nodding. "Alright. If he's okay with the rent and doesn't mind our quirks, I don't see why not. Besides, we need a cleaning aid for our mess."
Sana clapped her hands. "Great! I'll let him know."

By the end of the week, Yoongi had moved in. It took a bit of effort to get him settled, but once he was, the dynamic in the house shifted in an unexpectedly pleasant way.
Yoongi found himself spending more time with Dahyun than he anticipated. She had a calming presence that balanced out his often chaotic mind. Whether they were eating together or watching TV in the living room, he started to look forward to those moments.
One evening, as Dahyun was trying to fix a leaky faucet in the kitchen but only made more, Yoongi stood nearby, laughing at the scene in front of him.
"You're surprisingly bad at this," he remarked, watching her work.
Dahyun smirked. "Well, I have a runner for a father and a mother whose priority is being a legendary doctor, I don't see why I should be good at these things." she jokingly said as she soaked with water from the faulty faucet.
"Here let me," Yoongi said as he grabbed the faucet. As he reached for it, his and Dahyun's skin touched that made him feel electricuted.
Their eyes met briefly, and for a moment, Yoongi felt something stir in his chest. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was enough to make him glance away, feeling flustered.

A few weeks later, Sana announced she was heading to Busan for the weekend.
"I have... plans," she said vaguely, avoiding eye contact with Dahyun as she packed an overnight bag.
"Plans?" Dahyun asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yep. Important ones." Sana zipped up her bag and hurried out before Dahyun could pry further.
The "plans" turned out to involve her ex, an old flame she had reconnected with during her last visit to Busan. By the time she returned to Seoul, they were officially dating again.
"Guess who's back with her first love?" Sana announced one evening as she plopped onto the couch.
Dahyun raised an eyebrow. "You're seeing your ex again? The one who ghosted you after college?"
Sana waved her off. "He's changed. Besides, I'm a sucker for nostalgia."
Yoongi, sitting nearby, snorted. "You? Nostalgic? That's new."
"Shut up, I got you a place to live comfortably. You should be supporting me!" Sana shot back, grinning.
Despite her lighthearted demeanor, Sana couldn't help but notice how close Yoongi and Dahyun had become more than before. The way Yoongi's eyes lingered on Dahyun when she wasn't looking, the way he found excuses to be around her-it was obvious to Sana, even if Dahyun seemed blissfully unaware.
One night, as Sana and Yoongi sat on the balcony sipping soju, she decided to call him out.
"You've got a thing for Dahyun, don't you?" she said casually, watching his reaction.
Yoongi nearly choked on his drink. "What? No, I don't."
Sana smirked. "You're a terrible liar, Yoongi."
He sighed, leaning back in his chair. "It's just a crush. It's not like I'm going to act on it."
"Why not?" Sana asked.
"Because she deserves someone better," Yoongi said quietly.
Sana looked at him, her teasing expression softening. "Oh, please! Dahyun's taste in men is awful. Just take mcdreamy for example."
"That mcbastard Dong Joo." he said as he took another shot "I don't think she'll ever see me more than a friend. She have high standards. I don't think I'll catch up to that."
"You're not that bad. You're dorky at times but you're a great guy Yoongi. Go get her if you really want her. Dr. Kang chose Jisoo, what Dahyun needs right now is a man who'll never second guess about choosing her."
Yoongi didn't respond, his gaze fixed on the city lights. He didn't know what would come of these feelings, but for now, he was content just being close to Dahyun, even if it was only as a friend.
