Jihyo slumped on the breakroom couch, running a hand through her damp hair. "I swear, Jun-wan's idea of punishment is withholding surgeries. I mean, is it controlling? Sure. Petulant? Absolutely. But... am I that bad of a girlfriend?"
Dahyun, busy fumbling through her bag for her ID badge, scoffed. "Bad girlfriend? That's nothing compared to Dong-joo glaring at me like I've committed a crime every time I talk to Taehyung. After what he did to me? He lost the right to even look at me."
Jihyo let out a hollow laugh. "Men are impossible." She paused, her gaze hardening. "I'm dumping him."
"Jun-wan?" Dahyun blinked, genuinely surprised.
"Yeah," Jihyo said firmly. "I deserve better than a guy who punishes me when I don't live up to his ridiculous standards."
Before Dahyun could respond, Sana walked in, visibly shaken.
"Whoa," Dahyun said. "What happened to you?"
Sana dropped into a chair, her voice barely above a whisper. "I lied to Jun-wan."
Jihyo frowned. "About what?"
"Suho," Sana muttered, her hands trembling. "He needs that heart, and I-I can't think straight. I don't know what to do."
Jihyo raised a brow. "The heart's going to someone else?"
Sana nodded. "As long as Suho's doing well, someone else is ahead of him on the list."
Dahyun furrowed her brow. "So, what's your plan?"
Sana didn't answer. Instead, she abruptly stood and walked out, muttering under her breath, "I'll fix it."
---
Sana rolled a crash cart into Suho's room, closing the blinds behind her.
Suho, sensing the tension, frowned. "What's going on?"
"There may not be a heart," Sana admitted, her voice shaky. "Someone else might get it instead."
Suho leaned back, exhaling slowly. "I guess that's how it works sometimes."
"No," Sana snapped. "That's not how it works. You've waited a year and a half for this. You deserve this."
Suho's brow furrowed. "You're scaring me, Sana. What are you saying?"
Sana took a deep breath, her voice trembling. "For you to get this heart, you need to get much worse, very quickly."
Suho stared at her, horrified. "No. We're not doing this."
"I'll make sure you don't die," she insisted. "Trust me."
"No!" Suho sat up, his voice rising. "I won't steal a heart from someone else. And what about you? This could end your career!"
"I don't care about my career!" Sana shot back, her voice cracking. "There were five seconds between you and that other guy getting on the list. Five seconds! You've been fighting for your life for over a year. You deserve this just as much as he does."
Tears streamed down her face. "I swear, Suho, if you give me any more crap about walking into the light, I'll kill you myself."
"Don't worry Sana, I'll be alright. I'll be okay." Suho reassured her.
"What about me? What about me if you go to the light? What am I supposed to do when you're gone? I can't handle you dying. I'll never forgive you for making me love you if you do. You're supposed to be just my patient but look what you made me do! You made me love you and now you're saying you'll be fine dying?"
"Sana..."
"I love you, Suho and I know you do love me too. So, please... Let's make this work. Please, live for me!" Sana pleaded as she flopped down to her knees.
