Dahyun had never been one to pry, but after weeks of dating Kang Dong Joo, she started to realize just how little she knew about him. Sure, she knew the basics-he was an exceptional surgeon, well-respected, and incredibly passionate about his work. But when it came to anything beyond the hospital walls, Dong Joo was a mystery.
It didn't help that every time Dahyun tried to ask him personal questions, he would expertly dodge them. It had become a running joke between them. But now, it was starting to gnaw at her.
It was during a rare lull in their day when Dahyun found herself sitting in the hospital's atrium with Jihyo and Jungkook, trying to distract herself from the unanswered questions swirling in her head.
"Hey," Jungkook said, leaning forward on his elbows, "you've been awfully quiet today. Everything okay?"
Dahyun shrugged, glancing at her notes. "Yeah, just... thinking."
Jihyo, who had been half-listening, raised an eyebrow. "Thinking about what?"
Dahyun hesitated for a moment, biting her lip before she finally spoke. "Dong Joo."
That caught both their attention. Jungkook grinned, leaning in closer. "Ooh, trouble in paradise already?"
"No," Dahyun said quickly, shaking her head. "It's not that. It's just..." She paused, trying to find the right words. "I don't really know anything about him. He never shares anything personal."
Jihyo looked at her, her expression more serious. "Well, he's an attending. They're not exactly known for being open books."
"Yeah, but it's different," Dahyun insisted. "I'm not asking him to pour his heart out in the middle of surgery or anything. It's just... every time I ask him about his life outside the hospital, he changes the subject. Like, he won't even tell me what he does in his free time."
Jungkook smirked. "Maybe the guy doesn't have free time." while munching his banana bread
Dahyun groaned, slumping in her chair. "He does! He mentioned something about going to an observatory once, but that's it. I feel like I'm the only one sharing anything."
Jihyo leaned back, crossing her arms. "So what are you going to do? Keep pushing until he cracks?"
Dahyun sighed. "I don't know. Maybe... maybe I'm overthinking it."
Jihyo shrugged. "If it bothers you, you should ask him. What's the worst that could happen?"

Got it! Here's an expanded version with a fight between Dahyun and Dong Joo before he finally opens up and shows her where he lives.

Ever since Dahyun had brought up how little she knew about Kang Dong Joo, things had shifted. The normally playful, easygoing moments they shared were clouded by her frustration. No matter how much she tried to push it aside, the fact that Dong Joo never opened up about his life gnawed at her. It wasn't like she was asking for everything-just something to let her know he trusted her.
It had been a long day of surgeries and consultations when Dahyun found herself standing outside his office. She knocked once before pushing the door open.
Dong Joo was sitting behind his desk, staring at his computer screen, looking as focused as ever. He glanced up when she entered and smiled, but Dahyun didn't return it this time. She closed the door behind her, leaning against it.
"Dahyun?" he asked, his voice cautious. "What's wrong?"
She crossed her arms over her chest, her frustration finally bubbling over. "Why won't you ever let me in?"
