A New Beginning?
This is long ass smutt
The after-party had settled into a quieter hum, the excitement of the fashion show fading into soft conversations and clinking glasses. Jeff was standing near the bar, his eyes scanning the room, lost in thought. Then, as if on cue, he heard a familiar voice.
Jeff turned, his gaze meeting Bible’s, who stood a few feet away, a soft smile playing on his lips. Bible was impeccably dressed, as always, but tonight there was something different in his demeanor. He seemed more at ease, more himself than the man Jeff had knew
Bible’s smile widened, and there was a warmth in his eyes that Jeff hadn’t seen in a while. “I actually have something special planned to celebrate. Please come with me?”
Jeff hesitated, uncertainty flickering across his face. He opened his mouth to protest, to say that it was all too complicated, that they were still hurting too much from everything that had happened. But something in Bible’s eyes made him pause. He nodded, though with a slight reluctance.
“Okay, I’ll come with you,” Jeff said, the words slipping out before he could stop them.
Without another word, Bible led him out of the venue, into the cool night air. The car was waiting for them outside, sleek and black, the engine already purring with quiet anticipation. Bible opened the door for Jeff, a silent gesture of kindness that Jeff didn’t expect. He slid into the passenger seat, and Bible took the driver’s seat, the car pulling smoothly away from the event.
The drive was long, the streets passing by in a blur of city lights and shadows. Bible didn’t say much, but Jeff could feel the tension in the air between them, that old connection still lingering, despite the distance they had created. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t exactly peaceful either.
After what felt like hours, the car finally slowed, pulling into a grand driveway. Jeff’s eyes widened as they approached the house. It was enormous, a sprawling mansion with sleek, modern lines and towering windows that reflected the city lights. It was a place of luxury, the kind of home that Jeff had only ever seen in magazines or on TV.
Bible parked the car in front of the large, ornate doors. He got out and walked around to open Jeff’s door, his expression unreadable.
“Why are we here?” Jeff asked, his voice laced with confusion. His heart beat a little faster as he took in the enormity of the house. It seemed surreal, like something from a dream.
“This is my new house,” Bible said with a quiet smile. “I wanted to show you.”
Jeff’s brows furrowed. “Your new house?” His gaze flitted over the sleek, modern architecture, the manicured lawn, and the elaborate stonework. “This place... it’s huge. You just got this?”
Bible nodded, his expression a mixture of pride and something else—something harder to place. “Yeah. I’ve been working on it for a while. It’s mine now. All mine.” His voice carried a certain weight, as though the house symbolized more than just luxury; it was a symbol of his life, of the distance he’d come.
They walked up the grand staircase, Bible leading the way. The front door opened into an expansive foyer, a sweeping chandelier hanging overhead. Marble floors gleamed underfoot, and the walls were adorned with modern art that Jeff could barely appreciate in his stunned state.
Bible showed him around, room by room. The living spaces were all open, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the city below. The kitchen was state-of-the-art, the kind of kitchen that looked like it belonged to a Michelin-star chef. Everywhere Jeff looked, there was luxury. Yet despite all of it, something about the house felt cold—unlived in, even.
