Nika's pov

It is currently 6 pm and Shane has been in practice for the last hour and a half. The warmth of the dorm engulfing the atmosphere making it cozy. I was sitting here with Paige chatting and catching up with eachother's news since we haven't spoken a lot lately other than practice or basketball in general. "Wanna tell me what's going on with you and Azzi lately? I see y'all are a bit on and off" i said getting her attention. She sighed before looking at me "We just have our difficulties and our arguments. It's nothing serious. We are okay now and that's albthat matters. So relax" she answered with a small smile. A moment of silent judgement passed before she spoke up again "So. Nika. What's going on with my best friend and you?" She asked a smirk coming up to her face. Suddenly I felt a heat rush through my cheeks as i looked away embarrassed. "Do not look away from me now. Tell me what is going on between you two!" She insisted making me laugh a bit. "Well. We kissed. She found me in a weird state at the bar the other night and dhe took care of me. I couldn't sleep and went to the balcony. I didn't know she was up untill she brought me some hot tea and told me that she wouldn't leave me like that again. She made me come back to bed with her because i couldn't sleep alone that night. After a cute moment we shared  she told me that i had to wait until she asked me to be her girlfriend" i rumbled at her and laughed at the end with her expression. Paige's eyes were wide open and her jaw hung to the floor. Shock was written allover her face. Who can blame her though? I would've reacted the same way if worse if she told me something like that. "Do you understand what that means for Shane?" She asked not believing what she heard. Her hand flew to her forehead trying to comprehend the situation. "The fact that she said there's a POSSIBILITY of you being her girlfriend means that she wants to mary you basically" she said leaning back to the armchair. I shook my head laughing because i couldn't believe it either but still. "You have no idea how happy i am for you guys. Seriously. It's time you both found someone who can understand you and be there for you genuinely" she said making making me smile form ear to ear. "Come on tell me details how does it feel like being someone so close to Shane?!" She asked excitedly and i laughed at her expression. As the time passed and we talked about every detail of me and Shane a wave of quietness got over the room. "You gon' go back to Minnesota for the Christmas break?" I asked. "Yeah. Might take Azzi with me as well if she still wants to. What about you? Are you going back to Croatia?" She asked. I didn't know if i would go home this year. I haven't talked to them to see what we would do. "I don't know yet" i answered unsure of what's to come. "You have to think about it quick. Christmas is coming soon. Practices end in two days" Paige said and i nodded. I needed to see what i would do by the end of the week. "Are you thinking of staying here with Shane?" Paige asked with a raised eyebrow. I looked at her confused."No i was not hesitating because of that. I just haven't talked to my family to see what I'm gonna do. Won't she go back to her family for Christmas?" I asked. Paige gave me a look that screamed 'really?' before answering "There ain't no way she'll go back to them. She might go to her brother but i don't know" she said slightly shrugging her shoulders. I looked away amd took a sip of my coffee. I didn't know she didn't have anyone to be with in the holidays. "How long will you be at Minnesota?" I asked gaining her attention again. "I don't know. I might stay for a week. Azzi will go to hers after and i might come back" she said before taking a sip from her cup. I hummed in response. "Hey Azzi texted me. She said she wants me to come over. How long will Shane be?" She asked. I checked the time and saw taht she would be here in like ten to twenty minutes. "Not long now. You can go. Tell her i said hi" i said and she smiled before giving me a hug and leaving the dorm. I let out a sigh before gathering mine and Paige's cups and getting them to the sink. I started washing dishes so that i could kill time while also thinking about how this Christmas would plan out. After some time i was still daydreaming and cleaning dishes and suddenly i felt two large hands circle my waist. "Hey there beautiful" i heard her voice against my ear. Dangerously close. "Hi baby" i said before wiping my hands on the towel and turning around. She gave me a soft kiss and pulled away letting me take in how good she actually looked. Black sweatpants and tank top. White big headphones and a white jacket hanging from her backpack. "How was practice?" I asked as i caressed her cheek softly. "Great. Although i am a bit sad that tomorrow is my last practice before the break" she said looking down a bit. I moved my hand to her chin so she could look at my eyes. "It's juts two weeks honey. You'll be fine" i said and she chuckled before hugging me and letting me go. "I will go shower cause i stink honestly. If you need anything shout and I'll be right over by your side" she said before winking at me and just disappearing in the hall. I bit my lip and took initiative to order from Chick-fil-A since it was one of  her favourite places ever. I placed the order and waited for her to get out. Once she did let me tell you the sight was too good for my eyes. Her hair dripping wet and her back muscles showing. My mouth watered at the sight before the doorbell brought me back to reality. I went to get the order and placed on the coffee table after closing the door. Shane got in the room with a white hoodie and some PJ's underneath. Her hair still wet making me forget everything i wanted to say right now. "You ordered food?" She asked amused and I smiled at her before nodding. A grin made it's way to her face before she leaned down and kissed me. I hummed into the kiss and she sat down on the couch dragging me with her. We laughed as we laid down on the couch just staring at eachother. "I am honestly starving. How'd you know?" She asked i just shrugged my shoulders not once my eyes leaving her's. She chuckled and sat up pulling me in her arms. "You are something else Mühl" she said smiling at me. I laughed at her tone before grabbing the pack of fries feeding her one. "I am one of a kind just so you know" i said and she nodded as she opened her mouth for another fry. I laughed and fed her and we spent our afternoon in eachother's arms laughing and feeding eachother. Night came sooner than we expected and we were currently sitting on the couch cuddled up and talking. "So what are you going to do for the break? You going somewhere?" She asked smiling at me. "I don't know. I might go back to Croatia for a week or so. You?" I asked. She nodded and looked away "no. I'm staying here this year" she said. I hummed in response although i already knew my mother was okay with me bringing someone home. So i took my shot. "Hey so if you want...you can come with me? I mean I know it's last minute but still you could come with me. My sister will love you honestly" i said smiling only at the thought of my sister and Shane just laughing about honestly the stupidest things you can talk about. "I don't know Niks it's a family holiday. I don't want to just intrude to your family reunion you only see them twice a year" she said. She had a point but there's no way she spends Christmas alone. "No shane please. I already asked my mom and she told me she would be more than happy to have you there. Please come with me. Spend Christmas with me Brocker" I pleaded and saw a small glimpse of nostalgia in her eyes light up. She smiled before kissing me gently while her hand cupped my cheek. "Okay. I'll come" she said and laughed at how excited i got. "Thank you so much for this" she whispered and i just shook my head signalling it's nothing. I looked at how her eyes filled with joy only to the thought of not being alone during Christmas. We put on a Christmas movie and cuddled up together even more feeling the warmth of eachother. I accidentally put pressure slightly at her rib making her wince a bit. My eyebrows furrowed as she looked away with a look that basically screamed guilty. "What happened baby? Did you get hurt at practice?" I asked as i slowly looked down from the covers only to see a big and thick red line on her rib. "No no it's nothing don't worry about it" she said trying tobshake it off. Although my eyes couldn't leave the bruise. "What is this Shane?" I asked worriedly. She let out a sigh before looking at me "It's nothing Nika. Just leave it for now okay? Please" she said and i nodded hesitantly. I lied back down against her careful not to hurt her in any way. I snuggled against her she placed a kiss on top of my head making a small smile appear on my face. I loved how gentle she would always be with me. It made me forget about the strong and tough persona i put up in front of everyone else.
