Not ideal

Shane's pov

As I got downstairs with our suitcases Nika was saying goodbye to her family. "It's a shame y'all have to leave we were having so much fun. But we'll see you as soon as possible baby" Her mother said as she hugged her goodbye. I smiled and made my way to the car putting everything in place before going back to the house. I sat at the living room with Columba on my lap petting her like it was the last time i would see her. "I'm gonna miss you so much my princess" i whispered at her and she purred at me before sinking further in my lap making me smile like someone had proposed to me. I didn't expect her to be as welcoming as she was due to Nika telling me how much she doesn't like people but i guess that's a bonus for me right? I noticed that Nika was done with her goodbyes and was now watching me making me blush a bit. I placed Columba softly on the couch on the spot i was sitting and made my way over to the family. "It was really nice meeting you Shane. I hope we'll talk again soon" Roberta said making me smile before she took me by surprise by hugging me. I hugged her back still in shock before she pulled away. "Take care of my daughter now. You're responsible for her" Nika's dad said giving me his hand to shake. I nodded with a smile and shook his hand firmly enough for him to nod at me back. Lastly there was Hana. She smiled before she opened her amrs for a hug. I laughed and hugged her tightly. We learned a lot about eachother and honestly she's pretty cool. "We'll talk soon Brocker" she said with a smile. "I'm counting on it Mühl" i answered before we finally made our way to the car. I opened the door for Nika letting her in before going to my side of the car. We took off for the airport in silence while Nika looked outside all the time. "Hey. You alright?" I asked placing my hand on hers gripping it slightly trying to provide some type of comfort. She turned around and looked at me putting on a fake smile "Yeah. I'm just gonna miss this place. I'll come back here for summer" she said as she let out a sigh. "I know it's difficult baby. But everything is going to be okay. You'll be back here before you know it" i said and she smiled at me and looked outside. I knew there wasn't much i could do right now so i gave her the silence she clearly needed. After a while we finally arrived at the airport and i took out our bags and suitcases before we headed inside hand in hand. We checked in for our flights and went to the shops. Niak wanted to look around just to pass some time and who was I to say no to her? We walked around for a bit before we got outside to get some air. "I think they liked you a lot more than what i expected. Columba definitely loves you. She never sits on anyone's lap let alone someone stranger for her. And my dad seems impressed with you so that's good" Nika said as we looked outside. The sun was setting. The view was just something else. Something like you see at the cinemas. "That's good. I want them to like me. I have to keep an eye on you according to your father though. I wouldn't want to disobey him now that we kinda get along" i said making her chuckle. I smiled and put my arm around her shoulders pulling her a bit towards me. "I know it may sound a bit bullshity but I know how you're feeling right now. And i know it sucks. But you'll come back for a longer time and you'll enjoy it much more than now" i said after a moment of silence. "Thank you for coming with me. It was a great experience and i hope if you want to as well then maybe you could come with me in the summer?" She asked looking up a me. "We'll see. It's too soon to tell baby" i said while rubbing her shoulder. She smiled and turned around to hug me. I rested my head on top of hers as we stood there for a good minute just soaking in the presence of one another. Just then the name of our flight got called in for boarding so we headed inside and towards our gate. We made small chat until we sat at our seats. We shared her airpods and listened to some sonder before we both fell asleep since we knew we had a long flight ahead of us.

Paige's pov

"Can you calm down?!" I heard Ice shout from the living room. Azzi was having a full on panic attack since she didn't remember to prepare something for Shane's upcoming birthday. "But how could I forget something so important like that? I mean come on you know me!" She said pacing up amd down in the room. "Azzi relax we'll figure it out together. I do so much deals with people they might as well get us somewhere" i said entering the room. She shot me a deadly look which made me throw my hands in the air in defense. "What time do they land?" Ice asked out of the blue looking up from her phone. "I.. don't know. Nika said they would call us so we would go and pick them up. Although i think they land around ten? I'm not sure" i said before flopping on the couch. "You lazy bums will help me organise this shit. Paige search for somewhere to celebrate. Not something too much. You know she doesn't like extreme things. And Ice i need you to help me with the groceries. Let's go" she said clapping her hands at us. We weren't in a position where we could say no to her so we just complied. I just decided to get on the ps for a while until it was time for me to pick Shane and Nika up from the airport. I have been feeling a bit sick for a while now so i opted not going out or practicing as often as i did because i was afraid would get worse. Time flew by without me even noticing tbh. I got up and made some mac and cheese. Azzi taught me how to make it so it's basically what i am living from. I sat down on the kitchen table checking emails and stuff for any news or something interesting that has happened before i came across and article that made my eyes almost pop out of my eye sockets due to my shock.
