Nika's pov

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling a sensation of emptiness. I looked around and shane wasn't in the covers like she was when we fell asleep two hours earlier. I got up and went down to the kitchen to grab a glass of water before my eyes landed on her. She was sitting with Hana on the couch talking about something. They both seemed so relaxed. They were laughing and Shane just hit her leg on the table in front of the couch making me chuckle to myself as Hana laughed her ass off. A sudden chill run down my spine but I shrugged it off and went to grab that glass of water since i seemed to be dehydrated as fuck. I stood in front of the sink for a good minute absorbing the relaxing atmosphere of my home. I had missed this. Really. Shane's calming presence was something new to me as of my past relationships. I think she's the first one my mom has liked. And my dad is not that bad on her which is kinda sick. That man is not easy on anyone. I remember one time i had brought my ex Alex here and my father made him go through so many tests the poor boy was scared for his life. But not my Shane. She might be scared of his criticism and all but in front of him she puts up this bravery that honestly has me speechless every time. That's something i think he likes about her. Soon i made my way over to Shane and Hana who seemed to be talking still about the same thing with a joyful atmosphere surrounding to them. "Hey there you" i murmured as i sat on Shane's lap. "Hi beautiful" she answered with a smile before pecking my lips and then getting back to the conversation as i leaned back and laid against her. Turns out they were talking about ice hockey and how awesome it was according to Shane. It is adorable listening to her speaking about something she has an interest in. She talks passionately and joyfully and full of energy when she's excited to talk about something she likes. I love it. "We sure as hell are doing some lessons when we see eachother again. I want to learn the basics at least. It is a shame y'all have to leave in a few days. You're pretty cool" Hana said making Shane laugh a bit before agreeing with her. "Yeah i hope we stay in touch you seem like a really cool person to hang out with" Shane said. I wasn't able to hear much of the conversation since i fell asleep but i was just grateful they were getting along.

Shane's pov

I motioned for Hana to stay quiet just to make sure Nika was asleep. She was so cute i could feel myself fall even more in love with her every second i was looking at her. Hana looked at me with a proud smile. "You really love her don't you?" Hana asked making a smile come up to my face. "I do. I really do. She's just something i haven't had in a really long time. She's caring and selfless and kind and-" i took a pause with the compliments just to look at her and study her features before looking back at Hana "and it's real. I know it is. What we feel for eachother is real. And I'll do anything in my power for it to stay that way" i said admiring her again as hana nodded smiling. "You're in for it bud. You look head over heels for her. I'm glad she has someone like you in her life. You are one hundred percent my favourite of them all. Believe me she has struggled a lot with her past relationships. Even if she does not admit it she is quite fragile. She's still the little girl I played basketball with when we were five. Don't hurt her man. She really loves you i can tell by a mile away" Hana said looking at her sister and i nodded understanding completely what she meant. "Don't mess what you have up. Y'all are too good for eachother to break up. And plus our father doesn't really give a try to anyone we bring home he just scares them away or make them go through so many tests it gets exhausting and then they just leave on their own. So believe me when i tell you you are one lucky girl. Dad doesn't mess around" she continued making me slightly nervous but happy as well. "Well i guess we better go to sleep. Tomorrow is Christmas eve and I'm looking forward to the dinner and presents" she said making me laugh softly before we got up and head to our rooms. I carried Nika to our bedroom before placing her softly down on our bed. I went inside and brushed my teeth before i came back out and leaned against the door frame looking at her. She looked so peaceful and so beautiful. How can this sight be even real. Like bro are you kidding me?. Her eyes fluttered open before smiling at me. I felt my heart swell at the sight. She pulled me in and kissed me softly before she pulled me back to bed as silence fell upon us. "I love you" she whispered but at that point i didn't know wether she said it or if it was just me. Because my eyes were closing and the exhaustion was taking over. Even if it was a dream. It sure as hell was a good one.
