Shane's pov

Getting back home I couldn't stop thinking about the fight at the bar. Paige is someone who easily argues but I haven't seen her like that. She looked so.. vulnerable. But it seems like Azzi has it under control. I texted Nika telling her I was at my dorm and we chatted for a bit before we both went to sleep. For some reason I didn't sleep well. Waking up I felt stiff. I got up and made some coffee trying to get passed the trauma of waking up. I scrolled through tik tok watching some edits of me and Paige and also some of Nika's. Those edits were unholy and I would be lying if I said I haven't been watching one for over a minute now. I can't help it she's just so UGH. I placed the phone down and grabbed my mug and went to sit down. After a while of relaxing and enjoying the day off I had my phone started to ring like there was no tomorrow. I looked down and saw that Nika was calling me which brought a smile on my face. "Good morning beautiful" I said calmly and I heard her say "Good morning" with such sweet voice it was clear she had now woken up. "What's up?" I asked as I took a sip from my mug. "Geno said we could rest today so I don't have practice. Would you like to come by and bedrot together?" She asked softly. I felt butterflies with how her voice sounded. I could hear her yap all day while I would just look at her "Shane you there?" I heard the same voice call out making me get out of my trance. "uh yeah yeah I'll be right there" I said and with that we hung up. Since we would be bedrotting I stayed with my pyjama pants and my hoodie. I washed my face and brushed my teeth and after I took my keys I left my dorm heading to hers. On my way there I the thought of just seeing her just when she woke up made me excited. I really like that she calls me when she wakes up and tells me to come over. It's the moments like these that make me care deeper and deeper for her. That girl is going to be trouble that's fo sure. I just have to play it cool like I always do. I knocked on the door two times and waited for her to open it. Once she did I literally forgot what my name was. She was standing there with only a big t-shirt on and some boxers. It was clear that she wasn't wearing a bra and her hair was up in a messy bun. God have mercy. "Good morning sleeping beauty" I said trying to hide the fact that I wanted her to sit on my face. "Good morning cutie" she said and hugged me. I felt her boobs through her shirt touch my chest and I almost screamed in excitement to say the least. After we pulled away she stood aside so I could get in the dorm. I sat down on the couch and waited patiently for her to join me. She sat down next to me and laid with her back against my chest like always. We usually cuddle on the couch and not do anything else we just stay on our phones. Although I can't ignore the unbearable feeling between my legs. I swear I would let Nika top me any day. And let me tell you that is quite a BIG deal for me okay? Just let that sink in. "Is Paige here?" I asked not having seen the blonde since last night. "No she got up and went to workout. I think she would go to Azzi's after I'm not sure" she replied not taking her eyes of her phone before she chuckled a bit. I saw what she was looking at and it was an edit of her with the Weeknd playing in the background. Okay now that shit ain't funny she is too hot. It was an edit of her in the gym on the hip thrust machine and then various videos of her without a shirt on. "That's so sick. You look good" I said in amusement and she agreed adding it to her favorites. "Girl I know you didn't put an edit of yours in your favorites" I said in between laughs. "But I look gooddd. Plus you liked it so I might save it for some other intentions I have" she said side eying me. She said what now? I laughed at her trying not to show how turned on I was. Time passes by with us watching edits of Nika and I on her for you page. This is getting pretty unbearable. "Let me get up I want to go to the bathroom" I said feeling like I would explode. She got up a bit so I could stand up and she laid back down. I quickly made my way to the bathroom and placed my hands on the sink trying to pull together my thoughts. There is no way I'll last much longer without making a move on her. It's just more than what I can take. Seriously. Deep breaths. In and out. The constant thought of her pressed against me. Touching me. I am so screwed right now. Just then I hear the door open and I am met with Nika looking at me straight in the eyes as she closed the door. "You know there is this thing called privacy. Ever heard of that before?" I said trying to play it cool. "I got worried you've been here for like forever. Whatchu thinking about in that stupid  head of yours?" She asked taking some steps in my direction. I swallowed hard trying to stay focused. "Nothing important. You don't have to worry about it" I said and her face now is inches away from mine. "Oh but I do. You have no idea how much I worry. I can't have you torturing yourself while I can help" she whispered. Okay chat I am cooked. If I come out of this alive thank the Lord for that. "Oh really?" I asked a small smirk on my face. "yeah" she said with a smile. I bit my lip trying to maintain my breathing. She placed her hand on my cheek caressing it softly before it landed on my chin making me face her fully. I took some steps towards her while she backed up before her back hit the wall. "Nowhere to go?" I asked and she just nodded not having much to say. I took a glimpse of her lips. Red and glossy. As we were about to kiss we heard someone enter the dorm. "NIKA I'M BACK" Paige shouted and I closed my eyes in frustration. Nika seemed to have the same reaction before she blew me a kiss and slowly left the room. Oh. My. God. I am going to die dude my heart is pounding. I took a deep breath and splashed some water on my face before I made my way to the living room. "Oh hey dude didn't know you're here" Paige said and hugged me. "hey Paige what's good?" I asked trying to seem as normal as possible. "Oh you know same old same old" she said and I nodded in response. "Y'all wanna grab some food I'm starving" She said and me and Nika agreed since we haven't eaten anything. "Yes oh my god me too. Taco bell?" She asked and Paige and I shouted 'yes' at the same time making all three of us laugh. On our way to taco bell me and Paige were talking about how my doctor cleared me out to play hockey again. I was beyond excited and grateful that I was okay now. My life felt incomplete without hockey. "We will come to your first game that's for sure. You better score for me and look for me in the crowd" she and I laughed nodding as I made a turn to the taco Bell's driveway. "Are y'all going to the dance this Friday? Ava hasn't stopped talking about it" I asked and Paige nodded rapidly. "I am so hyped!!" she said and I laughed at her reaction "what about you Nika you going?" I asked with a smirk on my face as I looked at her through the mirror. "Yeah why not" she answered keeping eye contact. I pulled over and we got out of the car as we slowly made our way inside. Paige left to get our orders and now it was just me and Nika sitting next to each other. "You don't say a word to Paige about this" she said and I nodded agreeing. I placed my hand on her thigh smiling inoccently as I saw Paige coming back with the food. "I'm starving" she said and grabbed her food. I squeezed Nika's thigh seeing how her cheeks flushed red before I started devouring my meal. We didn't speak much after that we just sat and ate in silence while me and Nika stole glances from each other. I knew that she was emotionally unavailable right now cause deep down she sees Alleyne. She has told me so. I wanna take it slow and see where it takes us cause at this rate if I continue doing what I am doing I am gonna get hurt. Last time that happened I didn't speak to anyone for DAYS. I didn't eat I didn't sleep and I was trash at hockey. If it weren't for a friend of mine back then I don't think I would've recovered from that. That's why the whole player thing has come to the surface. Because once I got fucked over and I didn't intend to go over that again. "Guys I wanna talk to you about something" Paige said getting my attention. I looked at her and waited for her to talk. "I have been keeping a big secret from you. No one else knows what I'm about to say to you so this stays between us" she warned us and me Nika glanced at each other confused before we nodded. Paige took a deep breath before saying "Me and Azzi are dating. And it's pretty serious". I wouldn't say I was shocked but that is definitely something I wasn't expecting. Nika looked like she had the same reaction as me. "Not gonna lie. I think it was getting obvious. Y'all have been all chitty chatty and hugging and shi like all the time the past month so I am not surprised " Nika said and Paige was red from embarrassment. "Hey we're proud of you. You know that. And we support you guys" I said and she smiled at me before I gave her a hug and we continued talking about how it happened and how it was going between them two. I was really happy for Paige. She wasn't a person to open up and commit easily. I'm glad Azzi knows how to handle her they both deserve each other.
