Shane's pov

"Nika! Get your ass up it's time for breakfast" i heard a voice shout making me wince due to the headache i had. I tried to move but something was blocking me. I opened my eyes slowly adjusting to the light only to be met with a sleeping Nika in my arms. When i saw her naked body trapped in my arms all the memories of last night came flooding in my brain. I unconsciously smiled at the memory of me telling her i loved her. She had the cutest smile on her face. Soon though followed the memories of the after party. Her body on mine. How everything felt. It felt like we were in slow motion. And the feeling was so intense. It wasn't just a fuck. It was much more than that. My thoughts were soon interrupted by a sudden chill that run down my spine. The cold of Croatia really wasn't playing bro. Nika was right when i thought she was being dramatic."Baby wake up. Breakfast is ready" i whispered trying to wake her up gently. She hummed in response shoving her head further in the crook of my neck sicking for warmth of skin to skin contact. I laughed at how she tried placing soft kisses on my neck until she was face to face with me. "Good morning sunshine" i teased making her laugh before flopping beside me. "Good morning to you too baby" she finally answered with a raspy voice. God that voice did things to me. I could fuck her again right now if you ask me. "Come on let's get dressed. I already am cold" i said before I got up searching for my clothes while feeling a pair of eyes looking me up and down. "Now this is a proper sight to wake up to" Nika murmured making me chuckle before putting on a sports bra my boxers and my pyjamas. I turned around and threw her her pyjamas as well waiting for her to get dressed. I watched her every move absorbing her. Trying to study every little move she would make. When she was done she gave me a quick peck before we went downstairs seeing her family already at the table. "Good morning my babies. Did you sleep well?" My mom asked with a smile. I looked at Shane who had a huge grin plastered on her face. "Yes mom we slept great. I had forgotten how soft my bed here is" i answered as i took a seat on the table with shane following suit. Hana looked at me with a side eye as she saw Shane's expression and i just told her to let it go. I smiled to myself seeing Shane's expression while also still feeling my legs a bit week from last night's event. Breakfast time flew by with small talk with me and my sister while my mom and Shane were in deep conversation about how school and ice hockey had been treating her. Our dad much to everyone's surprise didn't talk much and just absorbed details from every little conversation that was made. "So what are your plans for today?" My mom asked and Shane looked at me clueless. "Well I thought about getting her to the places i used to hang out here back in the day. Shane has also made a reservation at a really nice restaurant so we're going there too and i guess we'll go around and show her a few things" i said as my mom nodded. Shane was staring into space totally zoned out as me and my mom were talking. I placed ny hand on hers making her look up at me. She put up a small smile before eating the rest of her food without a word. Honestly it kinda worried me seeing her quiet like that but there wasn't anything I could say to help her right now. Hana and my mom took care of the dishes as me and Shane went back upstairs to get ready. We had put on some music to get ready for the day. I made sure that we dressed properly not wanting Shane to freeze to death. It was pretty cute seeing her get cold at the slightest while i grew up here and i have no problem with the weather. "I really don't believe you when you say you're not cold. You're just trying to play it cool" she said as we made our way to the car. "No you're just not used to the temperatures that i am. Relax baby if anything i honestly find it adorable seeing you like this" i said as she opened the door for me. She rolled her eyes at my comment before i got in and made her way to the other side of the car. "I know you did not just roll your eyes at me" i said warningly. She threw me a look before looking back on the road. "What you gonna do about it sugar?" She asked teasingly and i gotta say the nickname made a small blush make it's way to my cheeks. "That's what i thought" she responded to my silence letting her hand fall to my thigh. A sigh left my mouth as i recalled the events of last night. My legs were weak this morning but i didn't tell her anything. She didn't need no more confidence boost. "So where are we going today? You got me driving around yet i have no idea where we are going" she said glancing at the gps. "Well we have a reservation at four in a nice restaurant. Personally i ljve the food there. So before that we can go around show you where i passed my time when i was a kid" i replied as she hummed in response. She made a turn and according to the gps we were here. We got out and started walking around. "That right there is my school in which-" "-little Nika shot three pointers and broke everyone's ankles i suppose" she cut me off making me chuckle. "Yes exactly that" i answered and she stood there taking in the view of the building. "It is really nice of a building congratulations to your mayor" she said sarcastically making me laugh. "Yea sure". We kept walking around showing her my favourite parks that i used to hang out. After two hours of walking and explaining we sat at a bench near the car. "It is really beautiful around here. Y'all are full of trees and parks. Nothing near my hometown" she commented taking in her surroundings. "Don't say that. There are plenty of parks and trees in Minnesota no?" I asked recalling what i had seen when i had gone with paige in Minnesota. She let out a small chuckle before looking away "I'm not from Minnesota Nika" she replied. "What? You said you and paige grew up together" i asked confused. "I moved there when i was eighteen. And yes from then until now me and Paige have been growing up together" she said looking back at me. Her eyebrows squinting due to the sun hitting her eyes. "So then where are you from?" I asked curiosity getting the best of me. "Detroit. Don't get me wrong i had good friends there. But i got plenty of times in trouble with thieves and people like that. Our apartment was always on the lookout for some reason" she said while my eyebrows raised at the city. "I gotta be honest with you i haven't heard plenty of good stuff about that city. And so you're from Michigan. You don't have an accent though?" I said watching her stretch. "Yeah no we don't have a good name for our city. Everyone's just thinking about it as a dangerous city or something like that. I used to have an accent but after many years of talking with Paige and people in Minnesota and here it kinda just faded away" she said turning to face me. She glanced at the watch on her wrist before looking back up at me. "As much as i am loving this q&a we're having we have to go to catch our reservation" she informed me making me nod. We got in the car and made our way to the restaurant with comfortable silence falling over the car ride. Soft music playing through the speakers. I loved this moment. Every bit of it. No anxiety or stress or anything like that. Just me and her. When we arrived at the restaurant she got out and opened the door for me making bith of us laugh at the cheezy move. They seated us to a table and handed us menus before letting us decide on what we want. "And are you two ready to order or should i come in a bit?" The waitress asked only looking at Shane. She looked at me before i gave her a nod of approval. I had already told shane my order so she could just say both of our dishes and after that the waitress left leaving us alone. "I don't like the way she looks at you" i stated glaring at her making Shane laugh a bit. "Relax honey. At the end of the day it is you who ends up sleeping with me. Not her" she said with a smile making me blush. She chuckled at my state before getting a hold of my hand and gripping it tightly as a form of reassurance. I smiled at her before looking around taking in the view of this restaurant. "So back to the questions from earlier. You're from Michigan. How come you left and went to Minnesota?" I asked as my eyes landed back on her. I saw her jaw tighten a bit before ahe replied "well my dad had been offered a new job with more money. We were a bit strict on our finances so we didn't have a choice other than to move to Minnesota". I nodded at her signalling that i was listening. "What's with the questions today? You're like on fire" she said jokingly after letting out a laugh. I smiled at her humour before drinking from my glass of whine. "I'm just trying to get to know you. I feel like I don't know you enough. There are so many things that i feel like I don't know about you" i answered honestly. She was like a mystery book. Slowly and patiently reading through the pages trying to get to the bottom of the story. She seemed like the type of person who would be good with kids. "I feel the same way about you though. I've come to your country yet i think i know little about you" she answered. Her eyes found mine as they eased up a bit. She seemed calm. I likwd this version of her. "You are more than free to ask me anything you want" i said crossing my hands waiting for her response. She took a sip of her wine and placed it down before studying me. Scanning me with her eyes. "Do you read books?" She finally asked. Curiosity written allover her eyes. I found it strange that this was her first question. "That's what you want to ask? If I read books?" I repeated thinking i might've heard her wrong. "You can understand a lot for someone weather they read or not books. And if they do what kind. It says a lot about their personality" she answered with a small smile. "I don't read much. Sometimes I read mystery books but not often. With basketball and my studies i don't have much free time" i replied with eyebrows slightly furrowed. She nodded looking around comprehending the information. "How bout you?" I fired back. "Yes i do read actually". When i have time i do. It keeps me calm. Helps me relax" she said with a tone so subtle and warm it felt strange to look her in the eyes. "Wanna get outta here?" She asked all of a sudden. I was taken back from the sudden change of conversation but I honestly didn't mind. I nodded rapidly and we both got up as we went to leave. She had taken care of the bill earlier which helped us now find our way almost immediately in the car. A conversation about our past passions our studies and many other things erupted between us helping the time fly by. We might have been driving for an hour now when we had stopped at a red light. We were talking about music taste before silence fell upon us. We enjoyed the rare moment of silence as the red light deflected on our faces. She was holding my hand with her right one slowly and softly caressing it every now and then. This cute little moment might seem like it's nothing but it is enough for my heart to flutter and my chest to tighten with how much care i felt for the girl. A huge smile appeared on my face out of the blue making me feel a bit embarrassed. She turned to look at me with a calm look making me feel weak even though i was sitting down. "I really thank you for getting me to come with you here. It's really beautiful. You are too" she said. Now stop cause this was adorable. "Thank you for coming with me. I really like hanging out with you. And you're really pretty too" i answered making hee let out a laugh before turning to look at the road onxe the light turned green. She stepped her foot on the gass and we drove off to my house since it was getting pretty late. Although i have to admit this day might have been one of the best ones of my life to be honest.

Hello my favourite peopleee. I am alive! I know i haven't updated in a while i promise I am trying but with basketball and studies and mental health issues i can't exactly keep up up but i promise i am trying. I hope y'all are great i missed you all. I missed the comments on the chapters and i missed talking to y'all. I will try not to disappear again but i make no promises.
