"How are you doing son?" Vanessa asked as she sat across the table from Kyaire. "You look better than you did the last time I saw you."

"I'm good ma. You know in here you have your highs and lows. Some days are better than others. Just excited that it's almost over, ya know?" Kyaire smiled.

In two weeks, he'd be free and the first person he was going to visit was Dianna. He'd had Noon and AK hold off on killing Denim for now. As for Dymond, he didn't know what prison he'd been transferred to, but he sure found it odd that the moment he'd heard about Dymond possibly messing with Dianna, he'd gotten transferred. Rumor was he was transferred for disciplinary issues. Another rumor was that he was transferred for medical reasons that the prison wasn't equipped to handle.

Kyaire was a smart man. He was street but he was smart. CO Franklin or TJ had to be responsible in some way for Dymond just up and leaving. It'd happened a little too quickly. Right before the prison was set to come off lockdown in a week? During a lockdown? As long as Kyaire had been in prison, an inmate had never been transferred to another prison during a lockdown. There was supposed to be absolutely no movement during one unless it was a medical emergency or had been court ordered. Something weird was going on and Kyaire wanted answers.

Dymond's cell had been cleared out days after the warden had let him walk free. That raised suspicion as Kyaire and the other inmates watched TJ clear out the cell during the lockdown. This left the cell completely empty since Dymond's new cellmate had gotten killed during the riot along with JD.

"What do you plan on doing with your life when you're out of here?" Vanessa questioned. "You know you can come home and get yourself together. Stay out of them streets with Kadarren and Jarvis." She said, referring to Noon and AK.

"And also, you need to leave Dianna alone. Let her do whatever she's gonna do. It's time for you to move on and turn your life around Kyaire. I don't want no drama or you to keep running up behind a woman who don't want you. I raised you better than that. You ain't no damn simp for love." She said, coming down hard on him. She was trying to steer him clear of going anywhere near Dianna because of what she knew about her.

It was embarrassing enough that she'd watched her son propose to a transgender, and it was disgusting to think that he'd laid down with one. She'd never tell him that though because he'd lose his mind. He nor Vanessa were fans of that community. Vanessa was old school, and Kyaire got his hateful ways about that community from her long before he could have his own opinions on people loving who they wanted.

Vanessa thought back to the day Shanti had disclosed that disturbing information to her and how she'd gone to Adina's house.

Vanessa banged on Adina's front door. She'd started off ringing the doorbell but that didn't seem like enough. Her patience waiting on them to come to the door was thin as hell after the information she'd just received.
