"Hello?" Steven answered the phone shakily.
"Hey, it's me." Connie responded.
"What are we going to do?" He asked.
"I don't know, I really like you. I want to be a part of your universe, remember?" Steven smiled.
"I want so see you."
"I want to see you too."
"Have you tried convincing your mom?" Steven asked.
"I can't even look at her without her snapping at me, Steven. She's furious."
"That sucks."
"Yeah my dad is the same too, how's yours doing?" Steven's eyes widened as he realized he hadn't even seen his father. After everything that happened his father had just skipped his mind.
"Steven?" Connie asked.
"I'll call you back." Steven stated and hung up.

Connie sighed and shut her phone. She looked at herself in the mirror and adjusted that hat on her head. She was about to leave for tennis practice. She walked out her door and down the stairs. She noticed her dad on the couch and simply walked past him out the front door. Connie opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat. The car was on with her mother in the drivers seat. Mrs. Maheshwaren put the car in reverse and they backed out of the driveway. They quickly arrived on a road and stopped at a red light. Connie stared out the window in silence. Her mother turned on the radio and a song came on.
"When youuuu
Look at meeeee
I feeeeel
Like your my destinyyyy
My knees go weeeak
And my heart beats faaaaaster.
I want you with me
I want to be wiiiith youuuu
But they don't want us to be togetherrrr
But we want to be
foreverrrrr
IIIIII looooove y-" Connie reached over and shut off the radio. The light turned green and they continued in silence till they reached the court. Connie opened the door and picked up her bag before stepping out of the car. She felt goosebumps on the back of her neck as she felt her mother watching her. She walked to the court and pulled out her tennis racket before throwing her duffle bag on the floor.
"Hey Ian." Connie greeted to the man on the other side of the net.
"Hey Connie, you're early today." Ian answered.
"I just don't have much to do, You ready?" Connie said picking up a yellow ball off the ground.
"You know it." Ian answered raising his racket as Connie threw the ball in the air.

Steven approached the car wash and saw his father's van parked outside. He noticed his father asleep in a lawn chair beside it. Steven walked to it and stood beside the chair. He poked his father.
"Stop it boo boo it not nice to poke." Greg muttered.
Steven smiled and poked him again.
"For a monkey you sure do not like following directions." Greg muttered.
Steven chuckled. Greg opened his eyes at the sound.
"STEVEN!" Greg sat up and gave his son a tight squeeze. "Thank goodness you're alright!" Greg said looking his son in the eyes. "Are you okay? You look kind of down."
"I'm fine dad, just came by to tell you I'm alright." Steven avoided the question.
"If you ever need anything you can always talk to me." Greg put his hand on his head. Steven walked to the van and opened it. He grabbed his father's electric guitar and strummed it once.
"Wanna play something?" Steven asked looking at his father.
"Sure." Greg got up and reached into his van, pulling out a bass. He plugged it in and looked at Steven. "What do you wanna play?" He asked his son.
"Lets play..." Steven thought for a moment and let the guitar hang loosely around his torso. "Like a comet." Steven said grinning. His father started strumming his guitar as Steven cleared his throat.
"Some." Steven said.
"Say I have no direction." Greg added.
"That I'm a light speed distraction."
"That's a knee-jerk reaction."
"Still."
"This is the final frontier."
"Everything is so clear."
"To my destiny I steer."

YAY! This fanfic reached 300 reads! For celebration, ask me any question in the comments and I will (try to) answer it. Short chapter (warned ya last A/N) :p. I didn't know where I was going with this chapter so I just decided to end it with a father/son duet. Did you like meh first song? I hope y'all did. Like I said I didn't know where I was going with this chapter so sorry it kinda sucks (really sucks). If you have any ideas (I'm running fresh out) be sure to write them in the comments, or you could message me. I actually tried out a new writing style for the chapter. What do y'all think? Should I use this style for the rest of the book or should I continue using the same old one? I really appreciate the feedback! Don't forget to vote, comment, follow, and all that other jazz.
