(This was written Wednesday, day before new Steven Universe episode)
Steven walked slowly down the sidewalk with a gem on either side of him. Garnet on his left and Amethyst was walking on the road. She began to speak outloud.
"Dear sidewalk,
Why can't you be just a little bit wider?
Sincerely, awkward third friend." Steven chuckled.
"Where does she live again?" Amethyst asked.
"We're almost there." He said. He felt the butterflies appear deep inside his stomach. He realized he would always get this feeling every time he knew he would see Connie. The feeling was always there, just more subtle. Now it felt like the butterflies mixed some coffee with some high caffeinated soda and drank it early in the morning. His hands were sweaty and all his clothes suddenly felt really uncomfortable. Steven's heart lifted when he saw her home. There was a car parked out in front and he stood there. His legs didn't want to move. But his body leaned forward in an awkward position. The gems stayed silent respecting his decision to stay behind. Garnet leaned against a street lamp and Amethyst started to shape shift into random things out of utter boredom. Steven stared at the house and felt an urge to run inside and hug Connie. But, her parents scared him and he was raised to well to know how to ignore rules.
Just go do it. If you're too scared I can.
Steven felt a strange feeling in his side as the voice echoed in his ear drums.
"You guys hear that?" He asked the gems. They nodded a "no" to him. "Hm." The feeling quickly disappeared and he felt a strange Déjà Vu moment.

Connie sighed as she plopped herself down on a bean bag chair in her room. Her parents had just left to the supermarket in her Mothers car. She was at home, alone and really wanted to see Steven. But guess what? She still wasn't allowed to see him. Connie could feel her mind slowly drifting back to her old life. The boring one. The one that she didn't want. The one that Steven wasn't a part of. She opened a book and began to read to herself. As she turned a page she heard a knock at the door. She waited for her parents to open it, until she realized, they weren't here. Connie walked down the stairs lazily and walked to the door. She took a deep breath before opening it, she felt a spark of hope in her that was quickly extinguished as she saw who it was.
"hello I'm bill are your parents home?!?" A man said in a deep voice. He was a purple tint and he was wearing a mail man outfit.
"Not currently but if you come back later they will." Connie answered. The man grinned happily and whistled loudly. Connie watched as the man glowed brightly and turned into a small purple female.
"AMETHYST!" Connie said with a hint of awe in her voice.
"Yo." She said. Before Connie could react Garnet walked to the door with something slung over her shoulder. She flashed Connie a small smile and dropped her present on the doorstep. Connie smiled happily as she saw him.
"Delivery for Connie Maheswaren." Steven said.
"Steven!" Connie hugged him.
"Surprise." Steven said as he hugged her tightly.
"I find it interesting how you guys have figured out a way to see each other two days straight even with the ban." Amethyst said. Steven scratched the back of his head and laughed nervously.
"Yeah." He said. He quickly turned his attention back to Connie. "Are your parents really not at home?" He asked.
"No Steven." Connie said happily. Steven's heart lifted, he was terrified of her parents. "You guys want to come in?" Connie asked them.
"Of course." Steven said. Connie held his hand and dragged him in. Garnet closed the door behind her as Amethyst threw herself on the couch.
"Got any snacks?" She asked.
"No. My parents don't let me eat junk food. But you can raid the kitchen for stuff if you'd like." Connie said.
"Sweet." Amethyst quickly disappeared into the kitchen.
"Garnet umm-"
"I'll just sit here. Don't worry about me." She said.
"Awesome." Connie said. She turned to Steven. "Want to go to my room?" She asked him.
"Sure." Steven shrugged. Connie held his hand tightly and pulled him behind her as she walked up the stairs. They entered and Connie put the book she was reading back on a shelf. "Was that book that Series you tried to get me into?" He asked her.
"Yeah. I love it." Connie stated nervously. Steven smiled and walked to the shelf. He looked carefully before pulling out the book she just put away.
"Well anything you love, I love." He handed her the book and sat down on the bean bag chair. She smiled and sat next to him with the book on her lap. They were pressed close due to the size of the chair. He put his arm around her as she opened the book to the first chapter.
"Lisa felt the wind chill her to the bone. She wrapped her arms around herself before calling to her familiar- Do you really want me to read to you?" Connie paused.
"Yeah, I love your cute voice. I can't read that well, you love to read and plus you're the strawberry." He smiled smugly at her as she looked through her memories.
"Stra-? Oh." She looked up at him. "You still remember that?" He nodded slowly.
"What am I?" He said.
"Huh?" She replied, confused.
"What am I?" He repeated. The memory almost slammed her to the ground.
"Oh, no." She said. "I'm not going to say it." He grinned mischievously at her.
"Beep. Incorrect answer. Any further attempts will be penalized." He said in a robot voice.
"How?" She crossed her arms.
"The tickle monster." His smile grew wider as hers faded. Before he knew it she had flown off the chair and under the bed. She chuckled as he stood up slowly. "I saw you hide. I know where you are. I also know your very ticklish." He moved his fingers like spiders. He dropped to the ground and held himself as he looked under the bed. She was no loner there but she quickly gave away her new location with a giggle. He turned to the closet. "You can run but you can't hide." He said as he approached the closet door. He flung it open and tackled her with his fingers. He tickled her until she couldn't breathe.
"Please...stop." Connie said through her laughs and deep breaths.
"I'll stop if you tell me what I am." He said stepping back. She pouted and her lips became pressed into a tight line. He tilted his head slightly, waiting for her words. "Last chance before I tickle you till tomorrow." His fingers danced in mid air in front of her. Her mouth puffed out in a cute way and she mumbled something. "Sorry didn't catch that." He said.
"Isdoiurtebiut." She mumbled slightly louder.
"I'm sorry?" He leaned in closer.
"I said your the biute." She mumbled her last words.
"One last time?" He said so close their noses almost touched.
"I said your the-" she was cut off by the squeal of a car tire. Her eyes widened as she exploded out of the closet. "MY PARENTS ARE HOME!"
"WHAT!?" Steven said in horror.
"You heard me, you have to leave. NOW." Connie's mind raced as she immediately thought of a plan. "Ok, I'll go outside and try to stall them. You grab the gems get out of here through the front door." Steven ran through it in his head and nodded. Before he left the room Connie stopped him.
"Steven," he turned to her. "Your my biscuit." She gave him a quick kiss on the lips and his heart skipped a beat. "Now go, before my parents find out I let you guys inside." Steven ran downstairs and spoke quickly to the gems. Connie walked behind him and went out the back. Her parents were driving into the driveway and she held the garage door closed. She held the button which caused it to not respond to the vehicle. She could hear her parents furiously tapping the button in the car and failing miserably. Connie released the button as she heard the front door close and ran inside. She ran to her room and sat casually in the bean bag chair. She leaned into it as she realized it smelled like Steven. She held the book in her lap and pretended to read it as she heard her parents fumble through the back door with groceries. She heard them gasp. Her heart dropped, she clenched the book hoping it wasn't something gem related.
"CONNIE MAHESWAREN!" Her mother yelled. Connie gripped the book tighter, they only ever used her first and last name if she was in big trouble. She sauntered down the stairs and peeked into the kitchen. She sighed in relief as she saw what they were mad at. Connie entered the kitchen and stood quietly next to the mess.
"Yes, mother?" She whispered.
"What is this?" She motioned to the open fridge door and it contents spilled out on the floor before it.
"I-" Connie came up with the quickest excuse in her mind. "I got really hungry, and I couldn't find anything to eat." She answered.
"So you disemboweled the fridge?" Her mother stated. Connie mentally slapped herself. Why did she have to let Amethyst be by herself in the kitchen?
"I-"
"Stop making excuses. Just.-" Dr. Maheswaren put her hands up in a surrender motion. "Just clean it up." She pinched the bridge of her nose and walked out the back door. Connie released a breath she didn't know she was holding. She pulled out some cleaning supplies and proceeded to scrub muck off of the floor.

Steven and the gems breathed heavily as they ran from the house. They stopped momentarily to gather they're breath. He looked back at the house and smiled. He chuckled and looked away. He felt Garnet's eyes on him and he turned to her.
"What?" He asked her, confused.
"Next time think of a better time to see her. I ran so fast I think I burned my feet off."A/N
