Steven felt the red liquid trickle down from his nose. The metallic taste filled his mouth and in immediate response, he cringed. He quickly wiped the blood on his arm then on his shirt. Chills ran down his spine from her words. The worst part was how certain she was about what she would do. He sensed no hesitation nor uncertainty in her statement. Anger quickly filled him as he realized what Aventurine had said.
"Don't call her that. Don't say that crap. You won't do squat. I won't let you." He thought with anger.
"Oh but you will. You will have to. Or, when I kill them-"
"If. If you kill them." Steven corrected. She stayed silent for a moment as if contemplating what to say next, whether insult him or continue.
"When I kill them they're deaths won't be painful. It will be quick and easy. But if you continue to put up a fight like this I will make sure that they all die miserable, slow, horrible, deaths. And MAKE you watch as life drains from their bodies. And for the gems, I will make you see how I crush their gems. How I shatter them into powder." Steven went quiet. He didn't know what to say. But he had to try to reclaim his pride.
"As if." He scoffed.
"I'm sorry?" Aventurine replied.
"You won't be able to do diddly-Squat after I'm done with you. I will hurt you beyo-" He cut himself off. Steven found himself lying on the ground in pain. He felt as if he suddenly got hit by a train. He held his head as it thumped repeatedly. It was like there was a ball repeatedly bouncing off the walls of his skull. And it hurt like hell. Steven crumpled into a fetal position before noticing that his father and Amethyst had appeared at his side. He shut his eyes as pain ripped through him. There was no way to explain the pain he felt. Just that it was in every part of him. Every part. Steven could feel it flowing through him. He realized he would just have to wait it out.
"Keep my stupid pride." He said aloud. A dark chuckle echoed in the back of his head.
"Don't threaten me child. I am far worse than you think I am. Just ask your servant what I mean." Then with that, he felt the presence in his head fade. Steven slowly sat up, he held his head tightly. He could hear a ringing sound in both ears which gave him even more of a headache. He watched as Amethyst and his father moved their lips as if trying to say something. He could not hear their voices due to the ringing. Finally, the ringing also began to fade as he leaned on his father, who held him tightly. The pain and everything disappeared with it. He had a bit of dizziness and Nausea, he also felt weak, but otherwise, he felt okay. Steven looked at his dad. He had an extremely concerned and puzzled look on his face. Greg was scared, confused, and worst of all he felt a sudden wave of Déjà Vu. Steven smiled, trying to reassure his father that he was fine now.
"Ifneow." Steven's words came out in a barely audible, raspy whisper.
"Steven?" Greg said.
"Isdifneow." He did it again. Steven coughed as he finished his "sentence".
"I'm fine now." He managed to say. "Hey man are you okay?" He looked around and found Amethyst looking at him with a concerned expression on her face. "Is it Aventurine again?" She asked him. Steven nodded vigorously.
"Adventure who?" Greg asked.
"Aventurine. It's this gem that's bugging Steven up, she's like all freaky and stuff and like hurts him somehow. I don't know the details that well so if you really want to know ask Garnet or Pearl for this biz." Amethyst answered.
"Hold on. Another gem? That hurts Steven? How?" Greg said. Steven tried to get up. At the mention of Pearl he knew what Aventurine meant by servant.
"Talk to Pearl." He said.
"Can I talk to Garnet instead?" Greg asked.
"She's out on a mission right now so you have to talk to Pearl. She's in her room." Amethyst replied. He sighed. Pearl always talked to him like a child. She treats him as if he doesn't know anything. He knows some stuff, I mean he was in Community College...that he dropped out of but that's not the point. Pearl always acts as if she's a higher level than him. At least Garnet talks to him as if they were peers.
"Can you watch him while I talk to her?" Greg said to Amethyst.
"Sure one sec." She lowered her shirt to expose her gem and it glowed brightly. He heard the temple door open.
"Thanks." He walked into the room and marveled at the water towers. It was pretty cool to see some magic without the gems saying something to him. "Pearl!?" Greg yelled into the room. He heard splashing and looked up at the direction it was coming from. He saw Pearl peek at him as she looked over the edge.
"Greg?" She jumped down and approached him. "What are you doing here? How did you even get here?" Pearl said in a snobby tone.
"Who's Aventurine?" Greg said immediately.A/N
No A/N guess what I would say :3
