"What was your most embarrassing moment?" Kehlani asked, raising a perfectly arched brow at Lucas.

Lucas held his hand up in response as he chewed on his chicken and waffles. Kehlani watched as the powdered sugar and syrup drizzled down the side of his lip. All he was doing was eating and it had her hotter than a jalapenos coochie. Watching him lick the powder and syrup had her ready to jump his bones.

Their first official date was well underway, and everything was going blissfully perfect. The Ari Lennox concert went as planned. Lucas and Kehlani were front row in general admission and had the best view in the house. They even met an older down-to-earth couple who were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. It was vibes and good times. They were now at Gotti, a popular Cajun restaurant in the downtown Houston area. They were known for their amazing chicken and waffles, which is what they both decided to try.

"Damn I don't know if I want to tell you this," Lucas chuckled, wiping the sides of his mouth.

"But I wanna knooooow," Kehlani dragged out, playfully pouting.

"Well back in middle school, I was assigned to do the morning broadcast for the morning announcements. I spent the entire week planning and preparing. The day finally comes for me to do the announcements and while the dude next to me is reading off the teleprompter, I farted. Loudly. It came out of nowhere, but I tried to play it off like nothing happened. I thought no one noticed till some dudes clowned me about it and it became a running joke to the point where I didn't even want to do the broadcast anymore," Lucas recalled, shaking his head at the distant memory.

"Damn kids can be so mean," Kehlani replied, taking a sip of her lemonade.

"What about you? What's your most embarrassing moment?" Luke questioned, never tearing his eyes away from her.

Kehlani leaned back in her seat, slightly giggling as the former memory played in her mind. "It was 5th grade. Annual Christmas show. We were performing the nutcracker. I was cast as one of the dancers for the Chinese tea song. I was so nervous that while we were performing I missed a step, tripped, and fucked the whole dance up. My music teacher was so mad at me and my classmates teased me about it for the rest of the school year," she recalled, covering over her rose tinted cheeks. "But honestly life has a way of embarrassing and humbling you when you least expect it."

"True," Lucas nodded in agreement. "In the end it's just a lesson. Either you learn from it or repeat the same mistakes and keep receiving that karmic energy in the end."

"It's crazy that you say that because the way things were going for me last year, I was so miserable until I started to realize the part I played in my own suffering. The signs were always there but I just decided to ignore them," Kehlani stated, tucking her hair behind her ear.
