"So what do you like to do besides play video games?" Amandla asked, as she stuffed her face with veggie chips.

Her and Bryson were at The Quarry Lake Swimming Hole in Austin, Tx eating snacks on a blanket and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the lake.

After a two hour drive from Houston to Austin the two were enjoying each other's company in a peaceful setting away from the craziness of their lives back home. They planned on spending the night in Austin and returning back to Houston tomorrow afternoon.

Bryson lied to his parents and said he was spending the weekend with Woody. They didn't question him too much on this since they had met Woody a few times when he came over to play video games with Bryson in the past.

"Uh... Play video games." Bryson chuckled, smacking on a Ritz cracker.

Amandla stale faced him. "Come on.. I know you have other interests."

"I'm a comics fanatic." Bryson shrugged. "I like to go deep in analysis on characters from the DCU and MCU comics. But when it comes to movies I prefer to do Marvel characters instead because DC movies are trash most of the times. They just don't do the characters justice." He explained.

"That's pretty cool. I'm really into Marvel comics and movies as well. But I still stan Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman." Amandla took a sip of her water. "So do yo write articles about this stuff or what?"

"I have a a YouTube channel and post some stuff on Instagram when the movies come out and things like that, but I haven't been really active on it lately." Bryson answered. "I have a question."

"Ask away."

"I noticed that your parents aren't really ever around. And you don't really talk about them either," Bryson stated quietly.

Amandla's shoulders slumped as she stared at the sky that was fading into a sunset. "I'm basically a latchkey kid. Growing up, my parents were rarely home due to their demanding careers in the medical field. I always would come home to a empty house, plenty of TV dinners and snacks in the kitchen, but it was very lonely and still is. Yeah I may have two parents financially supporting and taking care of me, but they've never really been there for me. It's like I basically raised myself." She blinked back the tears forming at the sockets of her eyes.
