Chapter 24

Emma 

I laughed along with Ben as we walked out of the cinema along with Liam, Sonny, Tyler and Lewis. We had just been to see IF- Imaginary Friends, it was actually really good. It was more a family fun kinda movie, I was surprised that even Ben seemed to enjoy it, I thought he always watched horror movies. 

"So have you heard from the love birds yet?" I asked, referring to Maddie and Jack.

"Yeah, Maddie has sent me the odd text, they're fine, they've just been enjoying themselves" Ben explained

"I wonder if Jack's had her screaming" Lewis joked

"You know how those two are, they can't keep their hands off each other" I joked

"Well well well what do we have here then?" Matt smirked as he suddenly appeared in front of us

"What do you want Matt?" I asked in an annoyed tone as I rolled my eyes

"Me? Nothing, I was just out in town and here you all are, so what, you two hanging out with the wolf gang now?" Matt asked with a smirk on his face, ugh I really wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off his face.

I swear after Matt's comment about the wolf gang, I could hear a few growls from behind me, oh god guys, please not now, not out here in public I said to myself in my head. 

"Yeah well Ben, Liam and the other guys are fun to hang out with" I shrugged

Matt was about to speak but stopped and then looked between me and the others and that stupid smirk appeared back on his face. 

"You and Liam huh? Gee Emma, I knew Ben wasn't fussy and was probably into the dogs but you too?" Matt asked amused

Uh oh....

The atmosphere was really bad now, you could actually cut it with a knife. I didn't need to turn around to know that Liam and the other guys, apart from Ben of course, were getting angrier by the minute. 

"Well if I had to choose between these guys here and you and your pathetic bunch, I'll take the dogs any day, any time, I honestly have no idea what Maddie ever saw in you to give you the chance that she did" I spat back

"Speaking of Mads, where is she?" Matt asked as he eyed us before he spoke again

"And your leader, are they together?" Matt asked bitterly

"Maddie is-" Ben started but I cut him off

"Visiting some relatives" I quickly said and I could feel everyone's eyes on me

"Yeah right, okay fine and him?" Matt asked, referring him to as Jack

"Well he is our Alpha, he does have pack duties to do" Sonny replied in a "Duh" tone

Matt just shot Sonny a disgusted look, this was becoming a tense stand off between us and Matt, no wonder Maddie and Jack are keeping their relationship private away from him and his friends. 

"We need to be going now" Ben said as he walked in front of me and pushed past Matt. Of course this knocked Matt off balance a bit, Matt being his usual self, had to mutter something that should have been kept quiet but we all heard him. 

"Watch it queer boy" Matt uttered

Suddenly Ben, Liam, Sonny and the others were all running forward for Matt, I did my best to hold Liam and Sonny back. 

"Guys no, this is what he wants from you, don't let him get his way" I practically begged

Matt just stood there looking at us, that smug tugging on his lips. Ugh as much as I wanted to go over there and wipe that smug expression off his face but I knew better than to do that. I could still hear some small growls coming from the boys, especially Liam.
