Chapter 18

Jack

I had just finished with my pack duties and made my way back up to my room, Sonny had said that Maddie was with my parents for their meeting but I knew it would be finished by now so maybe Maddie was with my mum, I'd quickly freshen up and then go and find her. My wolf was going mad inside, from being away from Maddie to not knowing where she was now, it felt like he always wanted us to be close to her, to know she was safe. I smiled to myself as I opened the door to my massive master size bedroom, I closed the door behind me, I looked over to my king size bed and was confused to see Maddie, curled up with my hoodie on, sound asleep. I walked over to the bed and sat down, careful not to disturb her too much. 

"Maddie" I said as I gently shook her so she would wake up

"Hmm Jack?" Maddie asked in a dazed and confused voice as she slowly began to waken up

"Yeah, It's me, I'm back, what are you doing here?" 

"I came back here after my meeting with your parents, I missed you, I needed to smell your scent or feel like you were close by to me" 

I looked away in confusion for a moment, that was really unusual for a human mate to feel that way. 

"What's wrong?" Maddie asked as she sat up and looked at me with a worried expression. 

"Nothing, don't worry about it" 

"Jack, is the way I was feeling something to do with the bond?" 

"No, I just got lost in my own thoughts there, like I said, nothing to worry about" I smiled

It was a clear blatant lie, I would need to speak to my father later on for some advice on this. 

"So I am now finished all my pack duties, what would you like to do?" I asked as I reached out and gently moved a piece of Maddie's hair out of her eyes. 

"We could spend some time together just us, out in the gardens or go out somewhere quiet" Maddie suggested

"Well there is a nice quiet little café in our town we could go there for a bit and then take things from there" I suggested

The café was small but warm, cosy and welcoming. The café was located in town but it was inside a huge garden like place. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window, the scene outside the window was lovely, like something straight out of a novel, different colours and kinds of flowers all scattered about, different sizes and lengths too, off to the side and in the middle was a little waterfall and river. 

"It's so beautiful here" Maddie smiled as she looked out the window in awe

"Well it's even more  beautiful now for me since your here" I smiled

"You and your smooth cheesy lines" Maddie laughed

"I can't help it, you just bring out my smoothness and cheesy" I joked

Maddie place her hands out on the table and I reached my hands out and held her hands in mine, gently rubbing her soft skin with my thumbs. 

"I'm so glad I'm here with you" Maddie smiled

"I'm glad your here with me too" 

"No, I don't just mean here, like here here, I mean here like in this moment and being with you" 

"I'm still glad your here with me" I smiled

We both finished our hot drinks and  food, we were now walking around the garden, admiring the scenery, I held Maddie's hand in mine. After some walking and admiring, we sat down on a bench, I sat down first and then pulled Maddie into me, her back to my front and I wrapped my arms around her.
