My boss' wondrous eyes visited on me frequently this day, which wasn't unusual but they lingered, and I started to wonder if I had done something to distract her.

"What?"

She shook her head, smiling innocently and leaning into her hand, elbow pressed against the desk. The woman was clearly deep in thought, so I looked at her pointedly, seeing if she would care to explain.

"I was thinking..."

"Really?" I drawled, eyes fluttering to enhance the sarcastic mannerism. She narrowed hers in return, putting me in my place, but I just grinned.

"My profits are falling, for dragon's lair. The club isn't hitting the ratings that it used to. Do you have any suggestions?"

I blinked in surprise. This high-class CEO, expert in business and management wanted my input? She was waiting patiently for a response, which I found so incredibly endearing. I licked my lips to try and suppress my growing smile, attempting to stay humble.

"I assume this is about image rather than money, since you are already swimming in that," I pointed out amicably, and she tipped her head to one side in admittance, so I indulged her.

"Every time you throw an event yourself, it hits over capacity in minutes, people queue for hours. Show me the stats?"

I figured the problem couldn't lie with her, not after the last event she held was such a success. I rolled my chair over to her desk, and she spun the computer screen round for me after selecting the spreadsheet. I analysed the dip in number of admissions, and clicked on a few filters to try and deduce where the problem was. She left me to do some data collection, instead opening her planner to schedule her upcoming month whilst I tapped away quietly on the keyboard.

"I think I may have found your problem."

The screen was flipped back round to her, and I pulled up images of the clubs interior and exterior design, which was absolutely stunning, The neon lighting and the luxury feel was exquisite, she couldn't have themed it better.

"Who does your advertising?"

"D'Agostino, he takes care of everything."

I nodded, and flicked onto the tab which listed the DJ's.

"If you run their following on social media through diagnostics, most are aged between 20-25. The decor in my opinion also appeals to a younger audience, and by the looks of your ratings, they think so too."

She nodded slowly, intensely staring at me, thoughts focused on something else as her stare flit down to my lips.

"Focus, Casanova."

She closed her eyes and turned away, a grounding inhale pulled through her dark lips.

"My apologies, your intelligence when you speak with passion is strangely alluring, tesoro."

I shot her a sarcastic look, but couldn't wipe the stupid smile plastered over my face at her interest. Clicking on the last few tabs, I opened up the advertisements on social-media, the website etc., which looked like they belonged to a different venue altogether. There was no colour theme, nothing eye-catching about them. They didn't do Dragon's lair a slither of the justice it deserved. Even Sofia seemed to pick up on the stark contrast, her fingers pinching her chin, deep in thought.

"How old is D'Agostino?"

"He is fifty-seven."

I nodded, pleased my theory had rang true with flying colours.

"That's almost forty years senior of the target age group. I think he just needs coaching, a fresh approach maybe."

Miss Bardot tipped her head down in agreement, seemingly impressed by my quick deductions. She ran her tongue over her teeth in thought, cogs turning in her mind, I could sense the businesswoman in her fronting. I myself had to simmer down, stuck in my own trance at the simple glimpse of her tongue.

"Do you want the club?"

I could have choked on my own saliva, eyebrows sailing to the sky in disbelief. Her question was loose, she sounded unbothered.

"Sorry, what?"

She chuckled at my reaction, and repeated herself, a higher level of sincerity than the first time, she really wasn't joking.

"Why?"

She looked back over at me, like it were the most nonchalant offer in the world.

"You sound like you know what you are talking about, so do you want the club?"

I was still sitting on her offer, stuck on the generosity that appeared to pour out of her most days, straight into me.

"You can't just-"

She tutted an interruption, her tongue clicking softly as she spun her pen aimlessly round her fingers. A vice the woman practiced with ease when she was assured, when she knew she was right. Unsurprisingly, I found the way she moved her fingers with such ease highly attractive. The rhythm and loop in which the pen moved was somewhat hypnotic, she didn't even need to look and the accuracy that the pen flicked between her pointer and middle finger was still impeccable.

"It's my club, I will do whatever benefits the business."

I mean, why did I even try to argue anyway.

"I don't have any experience in management."

Miss Bardot laughed again, crossing her legs comfortably as I shifted nervously in my chair. The hem of her pants lifts as she moved, exposing more of the gloriously expensive stilettos she adorned.

"Are you forgetting I have all the experience? I will not just throw you in the deep end, prediletto. I truly think you would excel at this."

I had stuffed the tip of my index finger in my mouth self-consciously, not realising that I was biting a nail until she reached forward and gently pulled my hand away, clasping it between both of hers instead.

"And if I don't?"

She shrugged, looking down at my hand and tapping it soothingly.

"Then I will find someone else, but I doubt I will need to."

"I'm over the moon that you think so highly of me, but I don't want anyone to think that I got this position because we're together."

Again, the businesswoman was unbothered, scoffing at my worries and concerns. The room's airy atmosphere was as calm as she was, soothing my uncertainty.

"I doubt anyone will have any strong opinions on how you got the position, it will become evident why you did once my ratings skyrocket again."

I had no more protests, sitting silently.

"So I will repeat, do you want the position?"

With the utmost happiness, I decided I would agree to it, though I still thought she was nuts for giving me such power over something that she invested a lot of time and effort into. The club was the first thing she bought with her father's fortune, after winning the court case against him all those years ago.

"Yes."

Her smile stretched, as did mine and she picked up a pen, scrawling down a couple of dates into her planner.

"Good, you deserve it."
