Alana was walking with Miguel with different little foldable papers in her hand. It was the college fair so even though Alana applied with Miguel to go to Stanford, she looked around just in case something went different.
"And i know that Stanford is on the top of our list, but you know, just in case." Alana said as she showed him the different brochures. "Come on, we haven't even gotten in yet. But i do expect us to get responses soon. Then we can do what we want." Miguel smiled at her.
"Well, yes. But i've always learned to never expect anything good to happen. The more you expect things, the more you will be disappointed." Alana told as Miguel sighed. Whenever Alana is hoping for something good, she's prepared for the bad news. But getting into this college with Miguel is something that she's actually wanting to accomplish more than anything.
The couple met up with Demetri and Eli. "What's up?" Eli asked, "All of our trials and tribulations of nerdom have finally come to this. We're the Belles of the ball." Demetri said, "Is that what we are?" Miguel asked as Alana laughed. "Oh, yes, my friend. they are fumbling around our dresses trying to cop a feel of our tantalizing brains." Demetri said as Alana bit her lip to contain her laughter.
"These vultures are wasting their time though. Eli and I have had our sights set on MIT for years. Well, Lana too. But we see how that went." Demetri said making her playfully scoff. "Please, trying being kicked off a balcony and going into a coma, then waking up only to have the feeling like you wanna be buried alive." Alana said as the guys all looking at her with wide eyes.
The accident has been something Alana now uses as a coping mechanism. She used to be triggered by it. Insecure about it. Constantly paranoid and faked how she felt. But ever since the break up and her finding herself and wanting to be different, it's like a joke thing. I mean... whatever to make her feel better.
Eli cleared his throat, "are you applying early decision to Stanford?" He asked the couple. "Yeah, definitely. But i should probably look into some safety schools too. Stanford's pretty expensive." Miguel said. Alana sighed, she definitely understood how that felt.
"Hey, fam." The group looked to the side to see a man standing there. "you bros looking to post up at a college a little closer to home, or what's the word?" The man named Gary had asked. "Well, Gary, the word is we'll be taking outta brodeo on the rodeo. But, um, thank you for all your bro-vertures." Demetri said making Alana furrow her eyebrows.
"All right, bet. but safety schools get a bad rap. they keep you closer to home, set you up for a big school later, and they take that weight off mom and pop's wallet." Gary told them as both Alana and Miguel reached over to get one of the brochures.

The four decided to take a tour of one of the schools. Alana wasn't really listening. It's not that she didn't want to, it's just... well yeah. She didn't want to.
