Alana woke up the next morning before Miguel. So, after she kissed his forehead and got up, brushed her teeth and got changed into a black long sleeve shirt and some dark blue jean shorts. After she put some white and black Nike shoes on, she walked down stairs to see Hector cooking.

The man looked up and smiled at the girl, "Good morning, mija. How'd you sleep?" He asked as she walked over to him, "Good, thanks again for letting us stay here." She said, Hector nodded, "of course." He said before turning back to the pans on the stovetop.
"Do you need help?" Alana asked, Hector smiled, "If you know how to cut vegetables." He laughed.

Alana smiled, "I can do that, yes." She said as she picked up the knife and began cutting the vegetables that were placed on the cutting board. "So, tell me a bit about you." Hector said as he looked at the girl.
Alana smiled, "what's there to tell?" She asked, "Why come to Mexico?" Hector asked, "I actually had the idea, get away from home for a while." She said. Hector looked at her, "Runaway from problems?" He said.

"i guess, or for now, distracting myself." She said making the man nod. "I relate." He said, "It's hard doing a lot at once. Being what people want you to be." Hector said as Alana listened to his words. "How does it get easier? To be what everyone expects." Alana asked, she hoped that his words could help her.
Hector faced her, "You have to expect the best for yourself. You do everything for people who've messed with you, you lose yourself in the process. Only you truly know yourself. If you don't know yourself, you're only ruining everything and everyone around you. Don't go down that path, find yourself first, help yourself first. The rest will follow you back to your life. Before the problems." Hector told the young girl.

Alana felt every single word. He basically read her like a book. Those thoughts of being someone she's not, doing things she doesn't want to, saying things in her head instead of out loud. She had to find herself.
Alana smiled at her boyfriend's father, "Thank you, I needed that." she said, Hector nodded. "Never forget that. Remember it." He said, Alana nodded, "Of course." She said.

Seconds later, they heard footsteps coming from the stairs. They both turned to see Miguel standing there with a smile on his face. "Hey! There he is." Hector said, Alana smiled at her boyfriend. "You must have been wiped out, right?" He asked Miguel.
Miguel smiled, "Yeah, a little bit." He said before placing a kiss on Alana's forehead.
"What are you... what are you making?" Miguel asked, his hand lying on Alana's shoulder.

"Ah, we're making my famous Churrasco." Hector told, "Yeah, get in there. Let me see those quick reflexes." Hector said, motioning to Alana who placed the knife down and is now wiping her hands on a paper towel. "Tell me where you learned to move like that." Hector said as Miguel stood where Alana was.
Alana then laughed and kissed Miguel's cheek, "While you do that, i'll be in the room. Call my dad, you know. Thanks again, Hector." Alana said as the older man nodded to her.

As Alana walked away Hector turned to Miguel, "Amazing woman. Don't lose that one." Hector commented, Miguel smiled as he looked down with a big smile, "I don't plan on it." Miguel said before he started telling Hector about himself.
