Amber sighs and looks at the clock. It’s Monday, the day everybody hates. She shifts in her chair trying to get comfortable and puts her pencil down, continuing to tune out her teacher’s lecture.

Finally, the bell rings indicating lunch. Amber lifts up her arms and stretches, finally relieved of sitting down all day.

“Come on Amber,” Violet say already at the door with the others. “Let’s go eat, I’m hungry.”

Amber lets out a yawn and heads over to the girls. “I’ll meet you in the cafeteria; I have to get something from my locker.”

“Okay, well hurry up,” Blue says and walks away with the others.

Amber hurries to her locker to switch out her books. She runs across the hallway, making her way through all the kids going the opposite way.

“Finally, out of there,” Amber whispers to herself as she moves away from the crowd. She makes her way to her locker and places her book bag down. She grabs her math text book and opens up her locker to switch it out for her history book.

Danger, keep away from the one with the stone heart…

Amber turns around. Huh…I could have sworn I heard someone say something. Shrugging it off, she closes her locker and heads on towards the cafeteria.

“Hey Amber,” Drake says walking up. “I’ve been looking for you.”

“Hey Drake,” Amber says adjusting her book bag. She smiles and gives him a quick kiss.

“So, how was your weekend?” He asks as his hand slides into hers.

“Oh, it was fine. Did homework, attacked my brother, same old same old.” Amber replies.

“So, cheer leading tryouts are this week, are you going to try out again?”

“I might, it really depends if my parents let me.” Amber remarks. “They’ve been on my back for weeks now for some reason and they never let me do anything anymore. I think that they’re afraid of me failing because I got a C on my last math test. And you know I only get A’s…so I’m assuming that they’re making sure I’m studying.”

“Oh, okay. That must be annoying, having your parents on your back all the time. If I get a bad grade, my parents don’t really mind. Only with Violet they seem to care.” Drake says.

Amber lets out a light laugh and stops walking and faces Drake. “Okay, so before you ask, I’m sorry but I don’t think I can eat lunch with you today. You see, Red said that she had something extremely important to tell us, and it had to wait till now. So I’m really sorry that I can’t join you, honestly, I really want too.”

Drake sighs. “Well, alright, but meet me after you eat outside. I really wanna hangout.” He says and kisses her again.

“Got it, I’ll see you later then. Hopefully they don’t hold me up.” Amber says.

Quickly Amber buys her lunch and meets the others at the table.

“Hey, sorry I took so long, I ran into Drake in the hall way and we had a chat.” Amber says as she sits down.

“I thought he was ignoring you,” Blue says.

Violet grins. “Drake told me what happened. So congrats,” she says.
