Violet packs up her lunch stuff as the bell rings, and walks back to class with Amber, Red and Blue.

Violet walks to class and sits down in her seat. Looking at Mrs. Bloom she takes out her science book and turns to chapter two, Life forms and begins reading and taking notes on section one.

Alright, so plants do photosynthesis by taking in energy from the sun…that is so easy, this is like what? Kindergarten work. Violet thinks and sighs. She looks Mrs. Bloom who writes something on the bored.

          Page twenty through page twenty-five.

Violet looks around, wondering who said that. Mrs. Bloom moves away and the numbers are written on the bored. Please tell me I did not just read her mind. Magic, it isn’t real! I can’t read minds, it’s impossible.

“Class, turn to chapter two of your science book, and read section one, and take notes on it. This will help you on the chapter test in two weeks.” Mrs. Bloom says scanning the class.

Violet hears the class moan and she sighs. I can’t be reading minds, can I? I mean, I knew what page to turn on when I came it…I swear I heard her say the numbers…okay, there has to be a logical explanation for this, for now, my mind is playing tricks on me, that’s all.

Violet continues on taking the notes as she reads the section.

What— what is this? Violet then hears Red say under her breath.

Violet looks at Red who’s staring at her book, but her lips aren’t moving. She didn’t say anything. I am not reading minds, I am not reading minds. Violet thinks.

“Hey Amber, I think you would know this. Do you have any idea why the section I’m reading is like a story on magic with the prophecy you explained, and not actually the section one on Life forms?” Red asks Amber looking confused.

Before Amber can respond, Violet looks at Red’s book. “What is this? Where is your science book?” Violet asks.

          “That’s it,” Red says.

“It can’t be, this is some…old book that was obviously created thousands of years ago. Look at the pages in it, they are old, rotten, and dusty.”

Red shrugs. “Well, that’s it. I was reading the section then it just changed, right in front of my eyes.

          “That’s cool,” Blue says.

“Told you magic was real.” Amber says, mocking Violet. “You have been proven wrong.”

“Shut up.” Violet says. They have a point, ugh, I can’t believe it. All this time I thought magic was fake, but I’ve been proven wrong. This sucks. “Okay, it’s in your book. We’ll read it during the break later.” She stops talking to see Mrs. Bloom walk up to them.

Strangely the book turns back to normal and Violet hands it back to Red.

Violet continues to work while thinking about the book. The book has to be important. It has to do something with the dream Amber had, I’m sure of it. Violet thinks.

An hour later the science class lesson ends and Violet puts her book back in her book bag.

“Okay class.” Mrs. Bloom starts walking to the bored and writes down something. “Please take out your history book and turn to page fifty, and read the section. Then answer numbers one through four.”

Violet grabs her history book from her book bag and places it on her desk. She then takes out a sheet of paper to work on.

While she reads the section she feels as if someone is watching her. She turns around to find Mrs. Bloom staring at the girls, all four of them.

Violet shivers and gets back to work. Stop staring at us…its creepy.

And as that’s being thought, Mrs. Bloom looks at them one last time and walks off.

After the lesson ends, the bell rings for the schools break. Break is taken place outside of the school in this large field near a forest, except the kids aren’t allowed past the small stream. Past the steam is the forest, and that is off school grounds.

Violet gets up from her seat, and walks out of the classroom door. She climbs down the stairs to the first floor that has a few classrooms, mostly lockers and exits through the back doors and outside.

Red runs up to her with her science book that has now turned back to this mystery magic book. She sits down next to Violet. Blue and Amber shortly sit down too.

Red places the book down in front of her and the book flips open and onto a random page. Violet examines the pages. The writing is old fashioned and done by hand. The paper is brown and ripped at the corners, like it’s been burned and there are splotches that are darker than the rest of the paper as if it’s been wet.

Violet looks at the top of the paper and reads what it says.

          The story of the warriors.

Blue must have noticed it too because she begins to jump. “Come on Red, read it, read it!” Blue begs.

“Okay, okay, I’ll read it. Just be patient,” She says and looks at the page.
