Red watches at the clock strikes eleven fifty, for lunch. The bell ring and the students around her rise from their seats.

Red gets up from her seat and grabs her lunch she made that morning with the food her family gave her over the summer. She leaves her table group and makes her way out of the room.

“Um, Red…” A quiet voice says from behind her. Red turns around and looks down at Blue.

“Yeah,” Red asks. She places a smile on her face.

“Do you um…want to eat with me? I don’t want to eat alone again,” She says and shifts her eyes to the floor. “If you don’t, I mean, that’s okay, I guess.”

“I’ll eat with you Blue,” Red grins.

Blue giggles and smiles. “Thanks,” she says. “Usually people just say no, but you’re different, which makes you nice.”

Red lets out a brief laugh and grins again. “No problem. You’re sweet; I don’t get how people can not like you.”

Blue giggles again but doesn’t say anything else. The two then walk off towards the cafeteria.

They enter the cafeteria and look for an empty table to sit at. The cafeteria is large, two stories up. But the first floor is only half the size as the second story because it connects to the third floor classes. The tables are made of a light brown wood and are round, like most lunch tables. And the walls are a cream color.

“Do you think we should eat with Violet and Amber too Red?” Blue then asks as Red looks around.

“Um…yeah, sure,” Red says turning to Blue. “Uh, let’s look for them before we chose a spot to sit, kay?”

“Okay,” Blue says and looks around. Her shoulder length hair flips over to one side of her shoulder as she turns her head.

Red looks around the lunch room trying to spot the familiar faces of her group. She looks over at a table with a group of older kids laughing, some sitting on the table and others standing.

Looking through that small crowd, she spots Amber with her boyfriend making out and instantly regrets looking. She covers Blue’s eyes with her hand. “Do not look.” She says, unable to take her eyes off the scene.

Knowing that Blue is only ten, it is best to make sure Blue doesn’t see things like that. Really, they have to make out in the middle of the cafeteria, with ten year olds present? Can’t they leave that to private places? Red thinks shaking her head.

“Why?” Blue asks. Red feels Blue move her arm, making it obvious that she is looking over at Amber and her guy do their thing.

“I told you to keep your eyes covered.” Red says giggling finally able to look away. She looks at Blue and grins. “I really don’t think ten year olds should look at something like that.”

Blue nervously laughs and put her hand behind her head. “Sorry,” she says.

“Anyway, let’s go.” Red says and walks over to Amber. “Hey, Amber,” Red says as she taps Amber’s shoulder.

Amber breaks loose from her boyfriend and turns around. “What?” She asks looking annoyed, but she always looks that way.

“Do you want to eat lunch with us?” Blue asks looking up at Amber with puppy dog eyes.
