Violet enters the class room with Red and Blue, without Amber.
Violet looks up from her book to see Mrs. Bloom walking up to the three girls and looks directly at them, confused.
“Where is Amber,” Mrs. Bloom asks looking around for the missing teenager.
Violet looks up at her teacher. “She said she was going to use the bathroom and that she didn’t feel so well so she might not return to class.”
Mrs. Bloom nods and Violet walks to her seat with Red and Blue.
“So, what did Amber actually tell you before she went to the bathroom?” Blue asks putting down her things.
Violet looks at Blue and Red and bites her lip. “She told me not to tell anybody.”
“Come on, you can tell us, I pretty sure she would have told us too,” Red complains.
Violet sighs, “Fine. She said she was going to ditch the rest of the school day with Drake and go to the carnival, something like that,” she says in a low whisper. “So she and my brother are now ditchers.”
“What? Aw, I want to go to the carnival,” Blue whines in a hushed tone. “Why couldn’t Amber take us too?”
“Because it’s a date, Amber and Drake are a dating couple and need to be alone at times,” Violet says. “Plus, they could both get in serious trouble if the school finds out.”
“But why did she tell you?” Red asks. “Not that there’s a problem, it just doesn’t seem like…her…”
“Well…she didn’t exactly tell me. I sorta read her mind by accident and she started thinking about my brother and the carnival.”
“Oh,” Red says.
Violet turns around to look at Mrs. Bloom’s desk. She sees her sitting down grading some papers before she begins the next lesson.
Before Violet could turn back around, she sees a faint purple glow next to her teacher. She focuses onto it and sees a small, purple colored six-point star shape stone.
After about a minute of staring at it wondering what it is, she realizes it.
It’s the violet stone.
The Violet Stone! Violet thinks excitedly about to jump out of her seat, but reminds herself to stay calm.
Take the treasure…take it. Fulfill the prophecy.
A low voice whispers in the back of her mind, and it continues, over and over again.
Take the treasure…take it. Fulfill the prophecy.
Once it stops Violet looks up at the stone again. It continues to glow a bright purple colored shine, yet it’s a bit dull.
“Okay class, let’s begin,” Mrs. Bloom starts and looks around the class. She then starts again, “I see that Amber has decided not to join us, so we’ll start without her. Turn to page seventy-four of you math text books and do problems one through five. When you are done with that, we’ll go over them and I’ll teach you the lesson. Then we will continue and finish at the number ten,” Mrs. Bloom says and sits down at her desk. “Oh, and if you get confused just read the lesson,” she then adds in.
Lazy teacher, Violet thinks and watches her closely.
Mrs. Bloom looks carefully at Violet and smiles. Violet watches her pick up the stone with a sly smile and she looks at Violet again.
Violet shakes her head and sighs and begins her work. She takes out a sheet of paper and writes down her name and the date which is November fourth. She then begins with her work.
It takes her about a minute to do problems one through three and another for four and five. What does this teacher think I am? This is like, first grade math, fractions are so easy.
Once she finishes she places down her pencil and then puts her head down onto her desk.
Violet then catches Mrs. Bloom starting to walk around the class room to check the work of the other kids around her.
As she walks past Violets desk, Mrs. Bloom exams Blue’s work and they seem to have a small chat about the problems.
Then she looks at Reds work and smiles and with a red pen, puts a large check mark at the top of her paper. She then walks by Violet and nods with a large smile on her face.
“Good job,” Mrs. Bloom whispers and marks a big red check mark. “All your past teachers always talk about how well of an extraordinary student you are, keep it up.”
Violet smiles and folds her arms and places them onto her desk. “Thank you.”
“Drake, Drake Martins is your brother, correct?” She then asks.
Violet nods. “Yeah, he’s my older brother.”
She nods. “I had him a few years ago; I guess the smart traits run in the family.”
Violet laughs it off and thinks about her brother being smart in math.
“Also Violet, I saw you looking at this earlier, and I want you to have it,” Mrs. Bloom says grinning. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out the violet stone.
Violet looks at the stone in shock, then at Mrs. Bloom, and back at the stone. “T-thank you,” She stutters in astonishment. She looks at the stone, staring at her own reflection in it. She then puts in into her bag. She looks at Red who’s looking at Violet, and doing a little happy dance. Violet giggles and looks back at her teacher.
Mrs. Bloom smiles and walks to the next desk and continues to grade papers.
Violet is left speechless with her mouth open and she is staring at Mrs. Bloom. Oh my god…did Mrs. Bloom just give me the stone? Did the voice go into her head and tell her to give it to me? Because of what I know, Mrs. Bloom loves to collect things and never lets anyone have them. Unless she knows the person needs it…could she know about the prophecy? No, she can’t. Violet thinks feeling very confused at the moment.
She stares at Mrs. Bloom searching through her mind to see if she can find any reason why her teacher gave her the stone, but there is nothing, just a catchy song that’s stuck in her head.
She snaps back into reality when she hears Mrs. Bloom say the answers to the problems. Ignoring them since she knows she got the right, she continues to think about the stone.
Violet then smiles, realizing that her team has two of the stones that they need to fulfill the prophecy. Just two more to go, we know where one is, and have to find the last one. I’ll help Amber figure out a way to get the amber stone from my brother.
“Oh my god, did she like, just give you the stone?” Red asks.
Violet grins, “Yup! I don’t know why, but at least it’s here, right?”
Red nods. “Yeah, that’s good. Just two more to go,” she says and grins.
Blue looks at Violet. “Be quiet you two, I don’t want to get in trouble.”
“Oh, um, okay.” Violet says and looks back at Mrs. Bloom.
