Amber wakes up as the rays of sunlight hit her face. She sits up and slowly walks out of bed. Sundays, just like Mondays. They are the worst. Amber thinks to herself.

Amber’s bright orange hair is a mess, and she feels extremely drowsy. Her eyes hurt and her throat is dry. She spent the previous day crying after the break up and feel asleep around six o’clock, missing dinner.

She walks into the bathroom to take a quick shower. When she is finished, she walks back into her room and gets dressed. She looks at the clock and it’s already one thirty. Well I slept late.

To Amber, everything is falling apart. Still wishing her breakup with Drake is a bad dream; she grabs her phone and attempts to call him. She still has him in her contacts, and she calls him, only finding that she has been blocked from him.

Feeling frustrated, she throws her phone on the floor and lies down on her bed, and sobs. What is wrong with me? Why do I have to be a part of this prophecy? I should just be dead!

After about another hour of feeling sorry for herself, she sits up and grabs her phone from the floor. After making sure it’s okay, she then types in Janelle’s phone number and calls her.

“Hello?” Janelle says picking up the phone.

“Janelle…” Amber says unable to keep her voice steady.

“Girl, what’s wrong?” Janelle asks. “Amber, what happened?”

“I-I’ll explain later. Just be at my house as fast as you can.” She says and hangs up the phone, and puts it on her desk. She then lies down, face flat on her pillow.

Amber ends up falling asleep for who knows how long. Her dreams are filled with hurt and dismay. The pain in her dream feels so real, like a slap on her face, and she could probably hear the beating of her heart as she is in blackness, full of loneliness and depression.

What wakes her up is the knocking on her door.

“Come in,” Amber says quietly, not wanting to speak anymore. Janelle comes in, and Amber tries her hardest to not cry again, so she struggles to hold back her tears.

“Amber, are you alright?” Janelle asks looking at Amber as she sits next to her. “Tell me what happened.”

Amber sits up and shakes her head. “Drake broke up with me!” she wails and suddenly burst into tears once more. She couldn’t hold back the tears, so she just let them flow down her cheeks.

“He did? That’s dreadful!” Janelle says and hugs Amber. “How could he, you two were perfect together!”

“I know! He just accused me of stealing one of his precious stone, and lying to him. I mean, yes I did lie to him, and I was planning to take it, but to save— never mind. I can’t tell you.” Amber says, and suddenly stops when she realizes that she was about to tell Janelle the prophecy and about the stone. She can’t do that; it’ll just get her in much more trouble. I remember, in my dream, if I spilled I would be punish by fate and destiny itself.

“Okay…” Janelle says, sounding suspicious. “But you can tell me. I’m your best friend, you tell me every secret, every secret. So why can’t you tell me this one?”

Amber struggles to come up with a decent answer that won’t give anything away. “I-I just can’t tell you.” She says. “I’d get in trouble, serious trouble."

“Fine,” Janelle says and apparently decides to change the topic by saying, “So exactly what happened with Drake?”

Amber begins crying again and can barely make out her words. “Well, I went to his house with Red and Blue—”

“And there we go again! What is up with all this hanging out with Violet, Blue and Red? You hardly know Red, Blue is very depressing and strange, and you hate Violet, or at least hated her. What is going on with them?” Janelle says.

Again a tough question for Amber, she couldn’t figure out a decent answer without spilling out the secret. How can she explain her lack of hatred with Violet? Since they all became friends, Amber hasn’t really held a grudge on anyone. She just decided to tell Janelle about the prophecy. What’s the worst that will happen? It can’t kill me. Amber thinks.

“Well?” Janelle asks impatiently. “What’s the excuse?”

Amber sighs. “I doubt you’ll believe me but the four of us, Blue, Violet, Red and I are destined to save the world from a dark magic that lies ahead.”

Instantly Janelle’s head flies up and she looks interested. “Oh, wow. That’s, that’s amazing. I believe you, tell me more.”

“Well, okay.” Amber says shocked at Janelle’s sudden interest. “Well, um, the four of us hold an element, mine is earth. I can control and move around rocks and the tectonic plates with my mind I guess. So I guess I can prevent sink holes and earthquakes.” Amber says. “I also have a few extra powers. I recently discovered I have super speed. My knowledge is also a type of power.”

“This is so awesome. Are you going to use these powers for good?” Janelle asks.

“Of course I am.” Amber says.

“Well that’s good,” Janelle says and grins.

“Anyway, that is why I needed Drake’s stone. He has what is called the Amber stone. I need it so I can join it with the Red stone, Blue stone, and Violet stone and place it on top of some stone pillar on the mood. Then with all the four stones, it will stop the dark, evil black magic from destroying the world.”

“Do you have the Amber stone?” Janelle asks.

Amber shakes her head. “No, Drake has it.”

Janelle then stares at Amber for a short while and then turns away. “Drake has it, huh.”

“What was that?” Amber asks. Does she know something about the stone? No, she can’t.

Janelle looks back at Amber. “It was nothing,” Janelle says.

          “Oh, well, okay.” Amber says.

“Well, I have to go. Hope you get better soon, I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye.” Janelle then says quickly and walks out of her room.

“Um…okay then. Bye Janelle…” Amber says and lies down on her bed once more.
