Amber parks her mom’s car in the drive way of Violet’s and Drake’s big two story white house and lets out a brief sigh.

I have to do this…Amber thinks and steps out of the car, closing the door behind her. She locks the car and walks up to the doorway or the house and bites her lip.

Amber lifts up her arm and slowly knocks on the door, feeling quite nervous.

As the door begins to open, the butterflies in Amber’s stomach grow vast and she can’t help but clench onto her stomach.

Once the door opens fully, Drake looks at her on the other side. Without saying anything he begins to close the door, but Amber stops it.

“I need to talk to you,” Amber manages to say as she bites her lip.

          “About what,” Drake asks.

“About what happened with you and Janelle today, I want to know what that was about.”

“There is nothing to talk about,” he simply says and begins to close the door again.

“Please Drake, may I come in?” Amber asks holding the door open.

          Drake shakes his head.

          “Please?”

          “No.”

“Why not,” Amber snaps at him. “I really need to talk to you.”

“Because I said so, now go, I’m kind of busy.” Drake says.

“No, I am not leaving till you let me in so we can talk,” Amber says and leans on the door.

“Ugh, fine. Come in then,” he says and steps to the side.

Amber nods walking into the house.

“Would you like anything to drink?” Drake asks trying to be polite, but Amber could tell he just wants to kick her out.

          “Yes please,” Amber says.

“Okay, what do you want? We have Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, water, root beer…”He says trailing off.

“Dr. Pepper please,” Amber says and sits down at the counter.

Drake nods and grabs the can out of the fridge and hands it to her.

“Thanks,” Amber mumbles and opens it up taking a sip. She gets up from her seat and walks out of the kitchen and heads towards the stair case.

“Where are you going?” Drake asks, his voice startling her.

She turns around and sighs, “To your room, sorry. It’s a force of habit.”

“How, you haven’t even been to my house in months,” Drake says and Amber nods.

“Yeah, I…um wasn’t thinking,” Amber says and walks back to the kitchen. “Sorry,” she repeats.

“Actually, I guess we could go up there if you want to go up,” Drake says and Amber nods, taking another sip of her soda.

Amber begins to slowly walk up the stair case quietly with Drake following right behind her. Amber bites her lip as Drake passes her and she stops, only to continue behind him.
