“Drake, no please! Don’t break up with me! You can’t!” Amber screeches as she bursts into tears. “You can’t break up with me for one little flaw!”
“One little flaw? Dude, you’ve been avoiding me just to hang out with these girls. Couples are supposed to spend about every minute together, but not you. You just want to hang out with my sister and her friends. I don’t get it; you and my sister are enemies. You lie to me, like seriously; I thought you were better than that. Amber, you’ve changed. And I don’t like it. I’m sorry, but we are done.”
“Shut up Drake! Change can be good! And I’m glad I got to know your sister. She’s awesome, and way better than you are. You’re such a badass jerk! I don’t even know what I ever saw in you.” Amber yells.
Blue looks at Amber in shock. “Amber, are you okay?” She asks trying to comfort her. Blue grabs onto Amber’s arm.
“Shut it Blue!” Amber yells smacking away her arm.
Blue backs up startled and scared on how Amber yelled at her. “Amber, calm down!” Blue then yells back.
Amber turns around, looking mad, which scares Blue even more. “I thought I told you to shut it!”
Blue bites her lip and holds back the tears that are threatening to come out.
“Amber, please calm down.” Red says from behind Blue. Blue feels Red place her hands on Blue’s shoulder.
Amber sighs and wipes her face. She then turns back to Drake.
“Alright, get out of here. Get out, and I never want to see you again!” Drake says. Blue studies him, his face is red with tears and his fists are clenched.
Amber stands up straight and wipes her face again. “Fine, but you’ll regret your decision!” She yells. She then grabs her purse. “Come on, let’s go.” He says looking at Blue and Red.
Blue follows behind Amber with Red. Blue looks at Red’s fists as if they are clenching onto something. Blue then climbs in the back seat of Amber’s car and straps in.
“Amber, are you okay?” Blue asks again, she voice quiet with her bottom lip trembling.
Amber nods, “Yeah, sure.” She says and drives off.
“Bye Amber.” Red says as Amber drops them off at the school and drives away. Blue follows her into the building and they sign in, and head up to their rooms.
“What time is it?” Red then asks looking down at Blue.
Blue shrugs. “About one o’clock or something, I’m just guessing.”
Red nods. “So, you want to go swimming or something?”
Blue shakes her head. “No thanks.”
“Why not,” Red then asks.
“Well…I can’t swim.” Blue says feeling embarrassed. “I never learned to and no one ever tried to teach me.”
“But, wait. Isn’t your power water? Like, you can control water?” Red asks.
Blue nods. “Yeah, I’m still getting the hang of it. The only time I actually tried out my powers was when Suzy was bothering me, and I got angry. I actually didn’t mean to do it.”
“But then it should be easy for you to swim. I’m pretty sure you can breathe under water.” Red says.
Blue shrugs. “Your power is fire, correct?”
Red nods.
“Then doesn’t water take out fire? So you can’t swim, or you might die out, like fire dies out when you pour water on it.” Blue says.
“Blue, I actually don’t think it works that way, I’ve been swimming for a long time.” Red says. “Anyway, I’ll see you later, since you don’t want to swim. I have to get ready.”
“Ready for what,” Blue then asks. What does she have to do that’s so important? Blue thinks.
“Oh, Daniel asked me out.” Red says blushing. She then puts her hands on her face and makes a squealing noise.
“Oh my gosh, that is so awesome!” Blue says clapping. “That’s great, I hope you have fun.” Blue then smiles.
“I know! Anyway, let’s go.” Red says and takes Blue up to her room. “Bye Blue.”
“Bye Red, have fun.” Blue says and walks into her room.
So, my power is water. I should practice it then. Blue thinks. She grabs a cup and fills it with water.
“Now what?” she asks herself. She places the cup on a table and stares at it, trying to control it, but fails.
Come on, focus! Blue thinks.
She stares at the water again and the water begins to lift, but then falls back in the cup, dropping some water onto the table.
Come on, you can do this, just focus. Blue tells herself. She closes her eyes, lifts out her hand, and in her mind, she thinks about the water floating around. She then opens her eyes, to find the water floating in mid air. She moves around her hands and the water moves around, collides together, separates, and Blue even makes it into little shapes. I’m able to do it! Blue thinks. I can control the water!
