My name is Violet Rose Martins. I am a thirteen year old girl, born November 13, and I am in eighth grade.
My mother named me Violet because, well I don’t really know. I guess it was because my eye color is purple. My mother told me that she always loved the color purple, so when I opened my eyes for the first time, my mother knew that my name would be Violet.
It has occurred to me over the years that I can see ghosts and read minds, but I’m not sure. My mother says it’s just my eyes tricking me when I see ghosts, probably to calm me down. But reading minds, I just find that strange. I’ve also noticed that my older brother Drake can do pretty weird stuff. For one, his eyes will sometimes glow and warm something up, and that thing is called heat vision.
My past life was pretty much a rush for a little girl. I was always smart and knew many things. I was never really interested in sports, and that surly hasn’t changed. My dream was to become president one day, pretty weird dream. Now my main goal is to become a vet because I love animals and really want to take care of them.
I live in Jacksonville Florida and I go to this special school where kids with ‘powers’ seem to go. Because of recent things, both my brother and I are sent to that school. Ha! There’s no such thing as magical powers. It’s impossible. Scientist would have proven it if there was. Magic is just some stupid thing little kids like to believe in, I don’t get why my parents have to send us to this school. Can’t I just go to a normal school? Ugh.
I am a gifted student. I have always gotten straight A’s and never something below. I am a girl of smarts and studies.
Other than my older brother, I have two little sisters as well. Drake is sixteen years old, and is dating this chick in my school, Amber, who’s real stupid and can never get her facts straight. My two little sisters are both seven years old. Since they’re identical twins, they look exactly the same and I can hardly tell the difference at times. Their names are Melanie and Natalie. Both are very annoying. And they believe in magic, but I shouldn't complain. When you're seven, you believe in magic, right?
I don’t have many friends in school. Basically my only friends are two girls named Jami and Lucy. We’ve been friends since childhood, well, when I was thrown into the school.
I got in the gifted program when I was about six years old at my old school, but switched to this school at age eight. I knew every state and capital of the U.S. every capital and country of Africa, and much more. I could even multiply huge numbers in my head. I already knew algebra and how to solve those problems in my head. I also knew a bit of ninth grade math by then. I would have skipped a few grades, but my parents didn’t want me to. So I stayed in my current grade.
I have to admit that I really like to dance. I've wanted to take classes, but my parents don't let me. But they put my little sisters in a class. They said that they wanted me to focus on my studies. Please, the lowest grade I've ever gotten was an A minus on a math quiz. But, I guess that's how things work in my family. Everything is unfair if you're older and the yonger ones get everything you ever wanted.
