Baran was waiting for Dilan to get out of the shower. "Bring her to the study in thirty minutes." He heard steps as he was sending the text message. Looking up, he saw that it was Dilan. "All yours..." She made a big gesture with her hands, like giving way to him. He picked up his jacket and said as he walked by her. "I think the punishment was not enough, Ms. Dilan." His lips on her ears. "As I shower, I will use the time to think of other ways. Since it is clear you insist on taunting me." Baran didn't wait for an answer. He left her there, blushed up. After the shower, Baran searched for his phone. It was almost time. He got dressed quickly and went back into the room. Approaching the bed, he realized Dilan was already asleep. He raised the covers to ensure she and their baby were warm. Then he sat next to her and admired her beauty. Her cheeks were still flushed. He caressed her skin, and she settled into his hand. Her hair cascaded into her chest. He leaned in to breathe in the scent. He could spend his whole life like this, with his little family. The incoming notification on his phone reminded him. "We are heading down." Baran's eyes returned to his wife. He kissed her head and very softly spoke to her belly. "Try not to move around that much. Mommy needs to rest. Daddy loves you. Sweet dreams!" Baran left them reluctantly, but it was time to face Ms. Azade. He had waited long enough, and the reason was that he needed to have something in his hands other than suspicious. He went through them in his head. His grandmother's reaction, or the lack of it, when Ms. Evin confessed she and Hassan had murdered his grandfather. That told Baran Ms. Azade knew or the very least, she suspected it. Also, her face when she saw the files on the folder containing known acquaintances of Hassan after he and Dilan returned from Mardin. Her attitude towards Hassan even after learning what he did to Baran's mother. Add the content of Hassan's audio, and you get a mountain of clues pointing at Ms. Azade.
When Baran opened the door to his study, he was met by a nervous Firat and a not-so-please Ms. Azade. She sat with her back to him and her hands on her cane. Her attitude was as overbearing as ever. Baran walked behind the desk and took a seat. Firat, who had helped him investigate his suspicions, stood beside him. Their grandmother didn't look at them. "I asked Firat to bring you here because there are answers you owe us." She refused to look at them when replying, "I don't know what you are talking about." Baran turned slightly in his chair, and with his hand partially covering his mouth, he pointed out. "You don't even know what the questions are yet." Exchanging looks with Firat, Baran went straight to the point. "When did you find out that Hassan and Ms. Evin had killed your husband?" She breathed in loudly, giving herself time to answer. "I found out when all of you did. At the launch event." Baran narrowed his eyes. "I don't believe that, Ms. Azade. That day, the day Dilan was kidnapped, you didn't seem surprised at all." She pressed her lips together. "You are mistaken. Besides, you were preoccupied with other things at that moment." His cousin intervened, his voice filled with sarcasm. "I was directly in front of you. And I remember it clearly. You were not surprise." She rose mad. "Are you implying I am lying?" Baran hit the desk and stood. His tone was low but contained. "It would not be the first time, Ms. Azade. Remember how you allowed Derya to hide in your shadow? I think you did the same for your son." She was about to leave, but Firat blocked the door. "What is this?" She shouted. "I am not done." Baran took out the folder with the files on Hassan's men. "Do you know any of these people?" She looked with loathing. "How would I know them?" Baran searched among the files; the one he knew had gotten his grandmother's attention before. "How about this one?" She kept silent. "Fine, remain quiet. I'll look into this man along with Mehmet Çelik." That made her look at him. Baran saw in her eyes not only surprise but also fear. Mostly fear.
Dilan felt Baran settled beside her. She tried to wake up. She was so tired that her eyes did not obey her. "Good night, my angel." She heard distantly before she was completely asleep again. Dilan woke up to the baby moving, exactly around the place where Baran's hand rested. She felt uncomfortable. She needed to sit. She moved carefully so as not to wake up her husband. Dilan rearranged the pillows behind her back and lay down again in a half-sitting position. That felt better. The baby seemed to like it because he stopped moving. Meanwhile, Baran's head shifted to her legs. She brushed his hair absently and drifted back to sleep. When Dilan opened her eyes again, it was morning. Baran was staring at her with a worried expression on his face. "What happened? Did you feel sick? Why didn't you wake me up?" She rubbed her eyes. "Good morning to you, too, Baran." He appeared exasperated by her answer. "Dilan, why did you sleep like that? Did something happen?" She touched her belly. "Our son was uncomfortable. He was moving a lot. This was the only way to calm him. Happy?" He grabbed her face. "You should have woken me up, Dilan. I could have helped you feel more comfortable. Instead, I woke up with my head on your legs. I'm sure it must have been confining for you." She kissed him on the lips. "There is not such a thing. Once the baby calmed down, I slept soundly until now." Her husband didn't look convinced. "Next time, let me know, Dilan. Or at least move me out of the way." She laughed. Asleep, Baran weighed a ton for her. It was best to let him be. "I'll do whatever I see fit, Baran Karabey." She got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom. "Hurry up, I want to go early to the Foundation."
