"Veer ji..."
He turned, his gaze still guarded.
"I am not talking about this... I am talking about the mistake I did."
Veer's eyes sharpened, a flicker of pain crossing his features.
"Not even in my life."
Sanjana's heart sank, but she knew she...

AUTHOR POV
After spending a week in the hospital, Sanjana had finally recovered from her injuries. Veer and Sanjana returned home, the familiar sight of their mansion bringing a sense of relief. As Veer parked the car, he quickly stepped out and walked around to open the door for her. Extending his hand with a gentle smile, he watched as Sanjana placed hers in his. She met his gaze with a small but heartfelt smile before stepping out.
As they approached the main entrance, Veer's entire family stood waiting for them. His mother, Anita, held an aarti thaal in her hands, her eyes glistening with emotion. The flickering flames of the diya cast a warm glow on her face as she welcomed them back.
"Mummy ji, yeh sab karne ki kya zarurat thi?" Sanjana said softly, feeling overwhelmed.
Anita shook her head. "Zarurat hai, beta. Tum dono itni badi ghatna se guzar kar aaye ho. Kisi ki buri nazar lagi hai tum dono ko. Pehle main nazar utaar loon, phir tum dono andar aana."
She circled the thaal in front of them, murmuring prayers as she completed the ritual. Only after that did she step aside, allowing them to enter.
Once inside, they were immediately greeted by warmth and familiarity. Sameera walked up to Sanjana with a bright smile. "Feeling better, bhabhi?" she asked with genuine concern.
Sanjana nodded. "Haan, much better now," she replied, her voice carrying gratitude.
They all settled into the living room, where conversations soon filled the air, mingling with bursts of laughter. It felt good to be home. The heaviness of the past days seemed to lighten with every passing moment spent in the company of loved ones.
By the time afternoon rolled around, lunch was ready, and the family moved to the dining area, taking their respective seats at the long, elegant table. The aroma of freshly prepared food wafted through the air as plates were served.
As they ate, Gautam looked towards Veer and asked, "Veer, when are you leaving for Italy?"
Veer swallowed a bite before responding, "I've booked the tickets, Dad. We're leaving next week."
Sameera's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Is bhabhi also going with you, bhai?"
"Yes..." Veer confirmed, his voice firm yet unreadable.
"That's a good decision, Veer," Raghuveer remarked approvingly. "After all, a wife should be where her husband is."
At that, Veer instinctively glanced at Sanjana. Her expression faltered ever so slightly, her disappointment barely masked. He noticed the subtle shift-the way her fingers played with the edge of her dupatta, the distant look in her eyes.
