A/N: *This is for those who may have skipped the A/N chapter from before* This is my side story for Toba-kun! It will be two chapters long, and the purpose of it is to get to know Toba and Crystal better, or get to know your character better! ^.^
*Toba's P.O.V*
"Toba-kun," said Crystal. "Time to wake up."
I then awoke and sighed. "What's the plan for the day?"
Crystal then smiled and said, "Nothing much. I mean, all you have to do is go to a young lady's house and introduce yourself."
"In other words," I said. "I just have one tedious task given to me by my parents."
"Yes," said Crystal as she sighed. "Your parents really want you to meet someone."
I shook my head. "They shouldn't worry. I mean, I do have a whole eternity and beyond."
"That may be true, but humans don't," said Crystal.
"Who said I wanted a human?"
"No one, but you do have the ability to make whoever you choose immortal, so I figured you'd want to take advantage of that."
"Maybe," I said as I took a sip of my tea. I then stared at the cup.
"What's wrong, Toba-kun?" asked Crystal with a worried expression.
"This is Earl Grey, right?"
"Yes."
I smiled. "It taste delicious. This really is my favorite kind of tea."
"Yes," said Crystal as she smiled.
I sighed as I sat in the living room of a very rich lady's mansion. I looked across me to see an empty couch. I tapped my foot on the ground as I sat.
"Sorry Ukari-sama," said the blonde maid as she apologised for the young lady I was supposed to be meeting today.
"It's alright," I said. "I'm not mad at Lady Diana, I'm just upset that I don't get to meet her."
The purple haired maid looked down. "I really am sorry."
In all honesty, what I had just said wasn't a lie. I really did like meeting new people, even if the meetings were usually a part of my parents elaborate plans for me to get married.
"It's okay, really," I said as I stood. "Do you mind if I go to the garden for some fresh air?"
"Of course not!" blurted out the blonde maid, whose name was Amy. "I'll show you the way."
I smiled as we entered the garden. I then told Amy that she could go inside, unless she wanted to join me, but she instead went back inside as she said she would try to get a hold of Lady Diana.
I sat on a bench near a pond as Crystal looked at the flowers.
"You really like flowers, don't you, Crystal?" I said as I smiled.
"They are quite pretty," said Crystal.
"They really are," I said as I sighed. "I think we she should make a bigger garden."
"We already have such an humongous garden," said Crystal as she shook her head.
I chuckled. "You can never have too much of what you like."
"Yes," said Crystal. "You can."
I sighed. "I suppose in some cases that is the truth."
"More so in most cases."
"Yeah..." I said as I continued my gazing at the pond.
After a while, staring at the water became boring and I was ready to go inside. As I got up, I heard rustling of leaves in the tree above me. I then looked up and watched as someone fell, me doing the catching on instinct of course.
I looked down to see a beautiful girl with jet black hair and lavender eyes.
"Hello," I said as I tilted my head to the side.
The girl then shook her head and pushed me away. She then fell out of my arms and said, "Gosh darn it! If only I could have stayed in that tree for a little longer! Then you wouldn't have met me and I would have been rid of yet another bachelor!"
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"You're just here to marry me, right?"
"Um..."
"So, just be gone. I don't want to get married to you so just forget about it."
Now, by this time a normal person would have shown this sweet, young lady what they were made of, but I am not that normal. Besides, if I argued, it would make it seems like I was upset about getting dumped when I really wasn't.
I then smiled and said, "I really don't want to get married at the moment, but my parents want me to."
"So, you're not here to try and woo me?" asked the girl in disbelieve.
"Nope," I said with a smile. "Just visiting because my parents sent me, but I really did want to meet a new person today."
"Oh," said the girl as she sat on the bench. "I'm sorry... By the way, my name's Diana... You must be Ukari-san."
"Nice to meet you Diana," I said as I sat next to her. "And you can call me Toba-kun."
We then began to talk for a while.
"So, you're already in love with someone," I said as I looked up at the clouds.
"Yes," said Diana as she sighed. "He's a baker in a small town that my family has been to many times."
"Have you told your parents?" I asked as I smiled.
"Of course not," said Diana as she looked down, her bangs covering her eyes. "They've never understood my feelings, so why now!"
I then shook my head and said, "I'm sure if you just told them-"
"They don't get it!" she yelled. "They've never gotten it! So, why bother!"
"There you are Lady Diana!" blurted Amy.
Diana rushed right passed her as she was about to cry.
"Lady Dia-" I grabbed Amy's hand as she was about to chase after her. "Lady Diana needs a little time to herself."
Amy bit her lip and then sighed.
"She told you," said Amy as she looked down at her tea cup which had been poured for her by Crystal.
"Yes," I said. "And I would like to help."
"There's no way you could help. Her parents don't listen, they never did."
"They may listen to me."
"Besides, you shouldn't worry about such things..."
"It's my duty to."
Amy shook her head.
I was about fed up with the young maid's stubbornness. "Look," I said. "I really do want to help here and I can't do that unless I have someone's consent. So, are you going to let me help the yound maiden who lives in this household or not?"
"I don't mean to be rude, but I am a servant to Lady Diana before anyone else... So, how can I trust you?"
"Don't worry about that," I said. "I am a Ukari after all. If you can't trust my family name, then you can't trust any one, right?"
Amy bit her lip. "I guess..."
"So, do we have a deal?"
Amy gulped. "Yes."
"Good," I said as I smiled.
Amy nodded.
I then sipped my tea as Amy exited the room to take care of a few things for Lady Diana, and to let the young lady know that I would be staying the night~
